New York Times bestselling author Beth Harbison whips together a witty and charming--and delicious--story about the secrets we keep, the friends we make, and the food we cook. MUST LOVE BUTTER: The Cookbook Club is now open to members. Foodies come join us! No diets! No skipping dessert! Margo Everson sees the call out for the cookbook club and knows she's found her people. Recently dumped by her self-absorbed husband, who frankly isn't much of a loss, she has little to show for her marriage but his 'parting gift'--a dilapidated old farm house--and a collection of well-loved cookbooks Aja Alexander just hopes her new-found friends won't notice that that every time she looks at food, she gets queasy. It's hard hiding a pregnancy, especially one she can't bring herself to share with her wealthy boyfriend and his snooty mother. Trista Walker left the cutthroat world of the law behind and decided her fate was to open a restaurant...not the most secure choice ever. But there she could she indulge her passion for creating delectable meals and make money at the same time. The women bond immediately, but it's not all popovers with melted brie and blackberry jam. Margo's farm house is about to fall down around her ears; Trista's restaurant needs a makeover and rat-removal fast; and as for Aja, just how long can you hide a baby bump anyway? In this delightful novel, these women form bonds that go beyond a love grilled garlic and soy sauce shrimp. Because what is more important in life than friendship...and food?

Trish, Margo, and Aja didn't know each other until they met at Trish's cookbook club, where they pick a different cookbook each month and bring something they've made from it. This story is about what brought each of the women to the cookbook club in the first place, as well as how their lives changed after meeting each other. ⬇️

CoffeeNBooks I felt like the story ended a bit abruptly, as there were some minor storylines that didn't seem to get wrapped up well, but there are recipes at the end of the book!

I almost bailed on this, but I‘m glad I didn‘t. Not great literature, but a cute story about friendship and making your own luck. Also, a good lesson on how food brings us together. Bonus, it includes a bunch of recipes at the end, plus there are references to specific cookbooks and recipes in the story. Nice for a cookbook lover like me.

Very sweet story about three women with different struggles who meet for a cookbook club. It was a quick read and a nice little distraction from the real world for a while. I did love the sections that described rediscovering a love for cooking more intricate dishes. It inspired me one night to go out and splurge on a nice meal. No surprises or major plot twists. If you are looking for some light reading I recommend it.

Mehso-so

The title, description, and cover drew me in but the storyline pace never climaxed or bottomed out. I can't remember the last time a book just felt story arc-less. I mean it was good, and I loved how the ladies stepped out of themselves to join a cookbook club and become friends, confidantes, etc but it just felt flat. Anyway, cozy read, but not much more than that.

I read this Nov 9-10 & rated it 3 ⭐️. This was a cute and light read. I wanted to like it more but it felt a little flat for me in some parts. It felt some tension was being set up but then it failed to materialize. I would definitely read another book by Harbison as I did enjoy this story.
