Mehso-so

12 yr old Molly dies after being sick for 4 years. After getting to limbo she reflects on her life and realizes not everything is as it seems.

First of all TW for child abuse.

This was a decent story with an interesting plot. I appreciated what the author was trying to say with this. Unfortunately it was repetitive and the writing felt too mature to be narrated by a 12 yr old.

Eh, this was a big disappointment for me. The author took a very complex medical issue and made it black and white. I wasn't able to feel any emotional connection to the characters despite the devastating subject matter. #netgalley #myfinalbreath

aperfectmjk I had that problem with one of her books. I think it had to do with the way it was narrated, It was written in the third person verses the first person which really prevents you from connecting. Is that how this one was written? 4y
pareads It was written in first person, but the narrator was a 12-yo girl and she said things that were way too mature for a 12-yo and it was odd. I think I had a hard time connecting with the story because of that, and the writing was just ok in my opinion 4y
