Now I remember when the news broke about Russian doping. I remember the controversy regarding them being able to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Watch this documentary. I have so many questions but right now my head is spinning. Wtf?!
K so I was under the impression that this was a whole history of the Olympics, like from Ancient Greece and everything. Turns out it's about the modern revival of the games, aka turn of the 20th century. Still cool, not sure how far I'll make it, but whatever. Just a heads up for those who are interested in this book. 🏅💪🏽 #ihadadreamaboutmichaelphelpsthisweek #itwasfuckingwild #alsodidyouknowsimonebileshasamemoirout???? #shetotallydoes!!!!
So you're sad the Olympics are over (and you've already read THE BOYS IN THE BOAT): Here are six Olympic-related books that you may enjoy reading! (Links in the comments.) #LitsyRecommendations
Four down, three to go in the #bookisholympics Thought the length of The Fireman might take me out of the running, but an unexpected 3 hour flight delay helped out #silverlining (see what I did there? Silver?! 😝)
Just in time for Rio2016. History of the modern Olympic Games that's very readable. Wonderful complement to what's going on in Rio.
Made no progress on either of the books I'm currently reading thanks to the Olympics Opening Ceremony. I did find a few books on Litsy to fuel my Summer Olympics obsession, though.
