My favorite childhood book. Juniper brought me my first taste of magic and in a way I‘ve always wanted to be the girl on the cover, wise, kind, magical. Hey we could all use a little magic in our lives. And a really cool owl.

The night I was born, according to my nurse Edith, was a night of black frost and dense darkness in a bitter January. White owls who lived in some nearby trees never stopped hurting and flying around the palace, or so the story goes.
pickThis is my first day of 7 Days 7 Books. I saw the tag and had to participate. Here‘s one of my most favorite books. It‘s a trilogy written by Monica Furlong for elementary/middle grade. My dad took me to Titcomb‘s Bookshop and I picked this out. It follows Juniper, who lives with her godmother to become a Doran (witch). This book began my magical adventure into reading fantasy. #7days7books
Just finished up Wise Child and am moving on to Juniper now. I‘m so sad that Colman, the last book in this series is so ridiculously hard to find for a reasonable price. I‘m sad I‘ll have to miss it.

Pictured are the four J books I had close at hand. Of these, Juniper is my favorite & a book I've read at least a dozen times. Monica Furlong's #Doran trilogy is among my favorite historical/fantasy YA series.
