From an Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award nominee comes a touching story of family, security, and loss. A young girl tells her mother about a passageway in their yard. Down this passageway, it is not cold, there is no danger, and nothing bad can ever happen--and the person she longs for is with her again. The only problem is that, on some days, the passageway is not there. But maybe, together, mother and daughter can find a way to carry that feeling with them always. First published in Argentina, this lovely picture book will tug on the heartstrings of anyone who knows what it means to miss a loved one.

A passageway in her yard appears sometimes and it leads a young girl to a place where nobody ever leaves her. This is her very short story telling her mother she wishes it was there all the time, afraid of the loss of a loved one, and her mother‘s comforting words. First published in #Argentina. #foodandlit @Butterfinger @Catsandbooks

I forgot about this children‘s ebook that had caught my eye when it was a free offer on Prime. Decided to open it today, and I am glad that I did! Beautifully illustrated by the Argentinian author, it is spare and poetic. A story of loss that touched my heart. Would be helpful for discussing grief with a child. Just know that as an adult, it worked for me as well.

This was my #doublespin book for May. It was a short, but lovely, picture book. The little girl in the story tells her mom about a passageway in her yard where she can go and be with the person she misses. 😢 Very evocative illustrations. I'm not sure where I heard about this and wanted to read it. It was either on Litsy or Shelf Awareness.

@TheAromaofBooks

SqueakyChu I wish I had such a passageway as well. 3y

SqueakyChu @DrexEdit I‘m sure I‘d cry reading this book. So many people I loved are missing from my life as I get older. 3y

#LovePrevails Day 3: #MissingPersonDay - In this beautifully translated international picturebook from Argentina, a young girl conceives of a passageway in her yard, that is there some days, but not all days. The passageway leads her to someone who made her feel safe, warm, and protected – and who is now gone. But it doesn‘t mean she will stop looking. Full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-mDh

#WordsOfOctober Day 8: #Red is used very dramatically in this exquisite picturebook about grief, loss, and healing. My review is forthcoming! Received a physical copy of this 2020 title from the publisher and it is absolutely gorgeous.
