I read a book not too long ago-Black Magic Kitten-with a very similar theme (woman returning to her witchy town with a smart-mouth kitty as her familiar & opening her own shop in town). It was just so poorly written. It feels like someone was copying someone, but it‘s clear this author is much more talented. 4y
