The audiobook was released last week so not in the Litsy database yet & tagging under this book. Cute & fun Oct listen, Riley goes to the island at bequest of her aunt hoping to learn about her recently-passed mother‘s family & finds out she is a witch & caretaker to a houseful of ghosts. pickA soft pick for a cute Halloween story & quick read yesterday for #Scarathlon2022 Although I have not read the preceding books about the terrible Herdmans, tge local family of delinquents & their mischief, it was easy to follow & made me laugh a couple of times. pickThis was a very cute endearing story about loneliness & family & community. A wonderful read for October made even more special from the gifts opened at numbered pages throughout the book. Sorry for the bad pic but the 4 gifts are 1) Mika‘s Can‘t-Do-Withouts (6 essential oils) 2) Witch‘s Cookbook 3) Cauldron-shaped bath bombs & a “Witches Brew” spoon 4) key-shaped bottle opener in a little Sense and Sensibility book box. All in all fun gifts & ⬇️

I‘m glad I finally got this one finished since I had an #ARC for a couple of years. I loved learning of the folklore of the Métis people & the Rougarou, werewolf-like creature. Joan this her missing husband is caught up with the beast & a revival show. Is her husband Reverend Wolf & can she get him back or is it all some kind of trick?

This audiobook short story is not in the Litsy database yet. Only OK for me-a good quick listen (about 45 min) but not spooky enough. The MC, Sally, is volunteering in the Death House in a living Victorian history museum when she falls asleep in the hearse & travels through time where she meets ghost Nathaniel & determines if she wants to be with him forever instead of her husband. (I found her annoying.)

This middle grade book reminded me of one I read growing up. I liked the idea of it, but ultimately it just wasn‘t that great with uneven story telling, fairly wooden dialogue & some bad editing with random words just seemingly thrown into sentences 🤷🏻♀️however, it was a quick read & netted me 397 #ScarathlonWordSearch words for 3970 points for #TeamMonsterMash
