so-soThis should probably be a pan, but the subject matter is making me soft. 🤷🏻♀️
The book is ostensibly about Martha Lloyd‘s life relating to Jane Austen (and the rest of her family). After a shaky start where the author spent a lot of time defining ‘best friend‘ and making my eyes roll, the rest read like a lot of repetitive supposition and guesswork.
I can‘t really recommend this to my fellow Austen fans. 😬
