Chevalier (The Welsh Guard Mysteries Book 2)
Chevalier (The Welsh Guard Mysteries Book 2) | Sarah Woodbury

Join Catrin and Rhys for more murder and mayhem in medieval Wales July 1284. King Edward has invited the nobility of England, Ireland, and Scotland to Nefyn, one of the most remote spots in Wales, for a Round Tablea tournament as in the tales of King Arthur to celebrate Edward's victory over the Welsh and his ascension to Arthur's throne. Not everyone sees the tournament as a friendly competition, however, and in short order, Rhys and Catrin are called to investigate the death of a knight in the retinue of the Earl of Gloucester. But just as in King Arthur's court, malice and treason lurk beneath the surface, so when murder turns to treachery, it is up to Catrin and Rhys to separate fact from fiction in Chevalier, the second book in The Welsh Guard Mysteries. Series so far: Crouchback, Chevalier (coming November 2020)

I forgot so much of this book. I‘m not sure why. Possibly because I inhaled it the first time through. I love these books even more as audiobooks. I‘m happy to now know the correct pronunciation of teulu, too.

@Texreader this word appears much more in the Gareth and Gwen series, but either way, I‘ve been reading this word ALL wrong. For some reason I was reading this as something along the lines of too-loo. It‘s actually tay-loo. Now that I‘m looking at it again, that makes sense, but SO wrong. This audiobook is fun in that you get to hear the welsh pronunciation of Arthur. It almost sounds like it ends with a D thanks to the rolled R.

The last audiobook was so good, I immediately began this one last night. I actually managed to stay awake in a more normal schedule, staying up to listen to Tom Mumford tell this story brilliantly until 2 am.
