Mehso-so

The book started off rocky. It felt a little discombobulated in the beginning because it would jump around from different points in her life. It was hard to follow what was going on.

Overall, this book wasn‘t perfect but I appreciated the author‘s candor and research.

Pickpick

This memoir was surprisingly good and made even better by Therese Plummer‘s narration. Sales looks back at her time as a middle-aged online dater who hooks up with younger men. Woven in and out of her experiences with other men is a long-term “situationship” with Able, a 25 yo southerner. She pulls in a larger narrative and interviews about app dating, hookup culture, and all the sexual and emotional issues that come with it. Definitely a pick! ⬇️

Megabooks This takes place around the time she was filming her HBO documentary Swiped, so I‘m off to watch that. 😁📱 4y
Cinfhen I‘m getting real life Mrs. Fletcher!!! I‘m curious about the documentary 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen kinda true, only Nancy Jo is a bit more savvy! Do you get hbo in Israel? Also I‘m reading this from you and @squirrelbrain now 😁 4y

Cinfhen Yes, we do get HBO!!! I know lots of people really hated Jillian but I liked her brashy no nonsense NY attitude and a bit of Jewish diva-ness 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen oh cool!! Check out Crime of the Century on HBO now that you‘ve finished Empire of Pain. Great companion pieces. I‘m just now getting into the memoir, but I definitely don‘t mind the brashness so far. 👍🏻 4y
squirrelbrain This one sounds great! Hope you enjoy Some Girls! 4y
allureofbeauty This sounds interesting 4y
Chelsea.Poole Ok I want to read this and now Some Girls, and also watch these documentaries!! Eek! Also, I‘m on hold for Empire of Pain, can‘t wait to get to it! (edited) 4y
Megabooks @squirrelbrain Thanks! I am so far! Great find. 👍🏻😁 4y
Megabooks @Chelsea.Poole We‘re such bad influences on each other! 😂😂 4y
Megabooks @allureofbeauty It was. I like books that are part memoir and part research. It the generational divide between her and her hookups was interesting. 4y
