Well after a whole 20 days, I broke this years #bookbuyingban, but these were all thrifted so I‘m okay with it. I got 8 books for $20, so I‘m calling it a win. Lights Out Tonight was picked up for a future #BackListReadathon where I focus on reading all my Mary Higgins Clark books. Curse of the Dream Witch was picked for #MiddleGradeMarch, and the tagged #NF looks right up my alley!

I really enjoyed this book, especially the first half. Incredibly psychological and the effect a psychopath can have on a rational mature woman 😳 Was shocked when I worked out halfway through the book that this is actually a true story. Makes it all the more shocking.

1st book finished for #AnyWayYouReadathon, but almost finished before midnight. 5/1000 pages read.

Started this book and has me hooked. Feels like I‘m watching a car crash, but interested to see where it goes and how it ends.

Wow just wow!!!
The author was totally taken in by an extremely charming con man called Mark Acklom.
Absolutely fascinating and shocking account of the whole bizarre story.
He was such a clever scammer he insidiously swindled her for thousands of pounds to the point she lost her job, her friends, family her home, money for her daughters college funds and all her savings.
He was such a grand master at the tall stories even that he was a spy!!!

The author Carolyn Woods met the utterly charming Mark Acklom and was totally consumed by love for him so gave up virtually everything, her job, friends, family, home and even gave him every penny she had.
A grand master at deception he conned her out of herofe basically.
Only when she had lost everything did Carolyn realise how she had been deceived and then she had to undergo the long, arduous process of trying to get him convicted.
