All signed up for the funnest, scariest readathon of the year!
Still waiting for my hold on the tagged but I should get it in time. I really enjoyed the author's other work but wasn't able to get to this one when he was features in #AAM. #bookspin
And finally a push through the next doorway. Very exciting! I've been holding this series because I'm not ready to run out of them. #doublespin
Good morning and happy #WondrousWednesday all!
1. The tagged. I was just thinking I stacked a LOT of books this week... 🤦🏻♀️
2. No I haven't. I don't even know if I read one published in 2021 last year.
3. Currently reading Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club. In French because I really want to do more of that this year.
Thanks for the tag @eggs! I hope you have a lovely day!
Thanks for the tag @EadieB!
1. I would definitely travel backwards. Hands down. I think that travelling to the future and coming back would be terrifying. Imagine the feeling of helplessness, knowing what is to come... I realize this is a pessimistic way of looking at it.
2. Aren't many books some form of time travel? Most of my wobbly-wobbly time-wimey diversion is on the screen, if you catch my drift.
Well, first month of the #BFC2022 challenge started off well... unfortunately the virus had other plans and knocked me out of the game for a couple of weeks. Got my 7 books in, at least!
📚7 (maybe only 6 - I have some chunksters on my TBR)
🏋🏻♂️ Still going to shoot for 30 x 4 to start
📱Cut down on time-wasting games
💤 No screen time 90 minutes before bed
🧠 Challenge myself to learn something new
Finally finished this one. I found it a little tough to wrap my head around at first but I'm eager to read the next in the trilogy now. Solid 4⭐️.
Crocodile on the Sandbank was a pleasant discovery for #Foodandlit22 but the end blew it big time. Overall a good listen 3⭐️.
Library hold on Death on the Nile is about to lapse so I'm hustling on that one.
Tempests and Slaughter I may DNF audiobook because I'm just not that into it, even at 63%.
I don't know if January passed slowly or quickly but as people are already posting their February TBRs, here's mine.
Many MANY selections rolled over from January.
@wideeyedreader I've got another spot reserved for #NYWD2022 because you gave me such a great list and also library holds can be mighty unpredictable.
I'm struggling through Gideon still but it's starting to pick up and my only remaining goal is to finish it!
Thanks for the tag, even though I'm a bit late to the game.
1. Bilbo Baggins, though I wouldn't mind being thrown into the mix at St. Mary's Institute of Historical research!
2. Anyone shady. I'd definitely be butting heads...
I realize I mostly read books about people who are loners lol none of that friendship stuff for me!
3. So many things! Right now grateful that my employer is allowing me to work from home for a while as I recoup fully.
Another one off my TBR. Again, why have I been holding on to this one for so long?! I feel very fortunate to have found 2 #slumpbusters in a row this month. They‘re going on the recommendation list for sure! #bookspin✔️ #doublespin✔️
I enjoyed this book so much that I kept putting it down! I got hooked very early on and wayyy too involved. It‘s my #bookspin for the month so ✔️ but it also took place partly in Egypt so pleasant surprise because I‘m still waiting for my #foodandlit2022 library holds.
And speaking of… homemade Egyptian falafel, pita, salad. I even made the tahini! And nowwwww food coma. Recipe links below ⬇️
Time for some hot lunch and #NYWD22!
Feeling a bit behind watching everyone post about having completed theirs already. 😭😭
Is the key to success accountability? Possibly, so here are my January #BFC2022 aspirations.
📚read/finish at least 7 books
🏋🏻♀️ complete 30 minutes‘ intentional exercise 4x per week
🥗 incorporate more veg into our meal plan. I‘m also going to try and do better about food waste.
📓bring back the bullet journal. Nothing gives me piece of mind like being able to take, cross off and refer back to notes.
First book of 2022 done! And that‘s the only thing worth remembering of this one.
I found it very sloppy, the characters were obnoxious, barely any development there. Cozy mysteries are a pretty new genre to me but this one was just way below expectations. The premise of the series could be good. I‘d look at the next in the series to see if the author was able to polish up her storytelling at all.
First #Bookspin list of the year!
I've got a few boooks still in play from last year that I need to get finished and also some new exciting challenges to look forward to!
@wideeyedreader you gave me quite a list to work with! Tons of variety and a few that I've already really enjoyed. Haven't yet decided which one I'm going to tackle first but I've got that copy of Gideon the Ninth that's been sitting in my library...
Wishing all my fellow Littens a happy and healthy 2022!!!
Thanks to everyone who hosted and posted and contributed to making the last year a little less isolating. I'm so looking forward to seeing what the new year brings.
Ringing in the year with one of my favourite activities: updating spreadsheets, getting ready for some new and ongoing challenges, including #Bookspin etc..., #Foodandlit22 and #NYWD22.
My 2021 wrap-up is in the comments.
Found on my desk this morning. November 3rd and there goes my TBR already.. 🤷🏻♀️ Great to have some book people in your life!
#Scarathlon2021 wrap up!
Week 4 brought in 1,510 points for an event total of 11,186 for #teamhendrix!
Thanks again to our fabulous hosts/team captains @StayCurious and @Clwojick and to all of the other fantastic hosts throughout the month!
One final one for #Halloween. It‘s also my #doublespin and gives me my first and only #bookspinbingo for October.
Last year I treated myself to a print copy of the tagged after listening to it for the first time. This year my treat was this Dracula nutcracker because it‘s the perfect mashup of my 2 favourite things! 🎃🧛♀️🩰🖤❤️
#scarathlon2021 #teamhendrix #screamathon2021 #spookoweenathon #wickedathon #ominousoctober #monstermash #roaringwolf
November #bookspinbingo tbr. Feeling pretty much all of these right now. Now if you‘ll excuse me I‘d like to go back to enjoying what‘s left of October. I‘ll be indulging in some Halloween horror classics on TCM. For the entire weekend. 🦇❤️🎃🖤💀
#bookspin #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
Thank you thank you thank you @ulrichyumiodd !!! Everything in the box is spot on and I‘m just so excited to dig in! 😁 The tote and the bookmarks are awesome and I can‘t wait to go to the office on Monday with a bone pen 🦴and freak someone out lol. The notebook looks like it belongs in a museum for real! 🏛🖤 and these books! They‘re going right into my November #bookspinbingo. Merci 🤩 🤩!!
One more down and I think my last for October's #aamveschwab. I enjoyed this one more than the first 2 of the series, and as a bonus I FINISHED A SERIES! I'll give it 3.75 stars but I don't think I'd read more Cassidy Blake if they come out.
No #bookspinbingo yet but I've still got a weekend!

Is it just me or was anyone else bothered by the amount of 'touching' in this story? Lots of fingers being suddenly intertwined without there having been any character or relationship development. A cute read still 3.5 🌟
#aamveschwab #scarathlon #teamhendrix #spookoweenathon #wickedathon #outstandingoctober
#screamathon week 3 #hocuspocus and #ominousoctober #dontjudgeabook #roaringwolf
Up next! I don‘t know how long I‘ve had this one. Or when I last picked it up. But pleasantly surprised to (re)learn that there‘s an intro by Neil Gaiman 🖤😎

#necronomathon #spookoween #wickedathon #outstandingoctober
Keep seeing these posts around this time of year and now it‘s time for my very own!!
After last year I dared to set the bar a little higher for 2021 and even though I suffered a major slump over the first half, I‘ve made my Goodreads Challenge goal of 50 books with plenty of time to spare!
Thanks to everyone on here for your support and inspiration!
Just so good!
I haven‘t read any Lovecraft in years but it must have stuck with me because parts of this novel were just so beautiful and familiar. Lots of really disturbing s*** going on there too. I had goosebumps through much of it. A solid read, I‘m looking forward to watching the adaptation next. 4.5🌟

#OutstandingOctober time! So glad to have @Andrew65 back to host this event!
I‘m enjoying the tagged book so so much! About half way through and I‘m pretty much addicted. Here are some goals for the weekend to start.
🧡Finish the tagged
💜Finish These Violent Delights for the #SundayBuddyRead so I can stop falling behind lol
🖤 Finish Tunnel of Bones and move on to another #aam and snag a #bookspinbingo
Wishing everyone here a great weekend!!

I can personally attest to that, though I never ventured into the catacombs because 😩 ☠ 🐥

Another great ghost story from Simone St. James! Multiple story lines that intertwine and all come together so cleanly in the end. 2 women who attended a now-closed girl‘s school decades apart were found murdered. A good look at how the presence and absence of family can both negatively impact a life. But the grass is always greener…. The audiobook version was great. 4🌟

Got the last item for my #HHS package yesterday so headed to the post office at lunch. Also found my box from @ulrichyumiodd waiting when I got in to the office! My boss is on an ordering spree and made away with it yesterday. Luckily he noticed my name before opening it!
#Thanksgiving weekend in Canada! I'll be visiting with family so don't know how it's going to play out for reading but I'll make some light goals for #anywayyoureadathon:
Progress on the tagged book for #sundaybuddyread
Read some classic horror from Poe and watch Vincent Price in The Raven for #screamathon2021 #scarepairs
And definitely have to get started on my #Bookspin selection and rack up more points for #scarathlon #teamhendrix
I've wanted to read this one for so long. Despite a few hiccups towards the end, I finished our #TeamHendrix #teamread for a whopping 870 points!
Much of this read like a spooky cozy, so I was REALLY thrown when the horror kicked into overdrive. Still, it's a pick for me and the audiobook version was super well performed.
#scarathlon2021 #screamathon2021 #wickedathon #bookspinbingo #littenlisten #spookoweenreadathon
Is anyone else having trouble with this one? I've been listening to the audio version and absolutely loving it - until about 75%. I'm so uncomfortable right now, I keep having to stop it. 😣
So… finished the tagged book last night. It was a bit juvenile for my tastes abut still creepy. Woke up this morning and had to snap this picture on my way in to work. Did I die in my sleep? Can I see the veil now?
