This isn‘t my favorite story with a road trip, but it is the one I read most recently! It‘s also quite a road trip! The MC had been on a long trip in her RV to Colorado and New Mexico, and she can‘t wait to get home to Alaska. Not so fast! Her harebrained acquaintance calls from Hawaii needing her help, so off she goes again.

As a travelogue this was very interesting. As a mystery novel, it was … fine.

JoyBlue Will I likely enjoy this without having read the first two in the series? [My library doesn't have the first two in audio, but I was able to pick this one up without wait.] Have you read The Mostly True Story of Tanner & Louise? That's a good road trip story. 1y
Susanita @JoyBlue I hadn‘t read the first two books either. She references the events, but I didn‘t have the feeling that I was missing something. Tanner and Louise sounds interesting. 1y
JoyBlue @Susanita Thanks so much! Let me know if you read T&L and how you feel about it. Even my partner, who rarely used to read fiction, liked it a lot. [He had to read it because I kept reacting to it in his presence.] He's been broadening his reading quite a bit in the last couple of years. 😉 1y
BookmarkTavern Wow! That sounds like fun! Thanks for answering! 1y

I enjoy light mysteries every once in a while for a #laidbackbook. The Maxie and Stretch books are wonderful! A retired woman and her pup travel the country in their beloved Winnie, and somehow they stumble over trouble over and over again.
