Haven: A Small Cats Big Adventure
Haven: A Small Cats Big Adventure | Megan Wagner Lloyd
6 posts | 7 read | 3 to read
When her cherished Ma Millie falls ill, a timid housecat ventures into the wild to seek help in this adventure about love, loss, and finding the truest version of ourselves. A warm, cozy lap. The toasty smell of baking bread. Tasty food served in a bright-blue bowl. These make Haven's life as an indoor pet heaven. All thanks to her beloved human and rescuer, Ma Millie. But when Ma Millie becomes too sick to care for her, the cat's cozy life is turned upside down, and Haven decides she must seek out another human for help. Anything for Ma Millie! Her vow pulls her out of her safe nest into the shadowy forest and down unfamiliar and dangerous roads. When her first plan fails, Haven meets a wilderness-savvy fox who volunteers as an ally, and their perilous journey together brings some victories. But Haven finds herself pitted against creatures far wilder than she ever could be, testing her strength and spirit to their limits. Will her loyalty to Ma Millie--and her newfound confidence in herself--be enough to help Haven see the quest through to its conclusion? Can she stand up against the fierce predator that is tracking her every move?

My Kindle said I could read this in 2 hours. It took me 19 days. I was reminded of Misery by Stephen King, Charlotte's Web, Little Red Riding Hood, the Gingerbread Man, Pax. I wondered if Erin Hunter fans would love it or hate it. I still need to read Allergic. I gave it a lot of stars because I don't think I'll forget this book.

A sad story with a strong leading character. 😢 I bought this for my daughter, Haven, and thought I would read it, too. I was not prepared for the end of this story.

This was an adorable story of a small cat named Haven who goes on a journey to save her sick owner by traveling to town to find help. Along the way she meets a fox, who agrees to help her through the forest. Their relationship is tentative at first, as Haven is not sure if she can trust the fox. During the journey Haven finds that she is more courageous than she thought and can do big things even as a small cat

Sweet MG read about a little cat who sets off to find someone to help her owner. I liked the unlikely relationship between the cat and the fox. Young animal lovers will enjoy this one for certain, and older readers will find it charming as well.

Because it's MG everything gets wrapped up nicely and sometimes having a book like that is just what you need.

Texreader It sounds like such a lovely book 1y

First ARC from Library Thing and it's absolutely perfect because my eight-year-old is named Haven and she is obsessed with cats and reading 🥰
