This was a really fun book, full of awkward yet lovable characters. Nina is adorably an anxious mess #relatable
I loved watching her connect with her newly discovered family and learning to embrace change and put her trust in others. I hate that I waited so long to read this but definitely looking forward to the next book set in this bookish community!

I never read this book as a child, although I had seen the movie. Reading this was every bit as magical and heartbreaking as I imagined it would be. The interview at the end with the author and her son, for whom she wrote the book, was very sweet.

Super duper cute graphic novel! This was funny and punny and lovely 😍 I came for the cheese puns and stayed for the amazing found family. I loved the exploration of societal norms and gender expression. And the fashion!! Gorgeous outfits and images in general. Cannot recommend this more!

The Arthurian legend, told from Arthur‘s point of view at the age of 12. Part I of a trilogy. Very engaging! I‘m excited to read the next books to see how the legend develops. Right now, it‘s hard to see how he will become the king he is destined to be.

This was a lovely collection of short stories, written with Rowell's usual style of optimism and character-driven romance. There were quite a few appearances by characters from her previous novels, and it was fun to see how some of their futures turned out. I especially liked Simon and Baz's story 💖

I'm behind on reviews again, but felt the same as most #pemberlittens with this one. It was decent but there were sooo many characters to keep track of and while I liked revisiting some of my favorites, I don't know that the couples paired were the best matched. Glad to have read this though, especially with the #hashtagbrigade

BarkingMadRead Definitely the general consensus!! I think she could have cut the characters in half and been just as successful 1y

This was a really interesting look at the effect of technology and social media on our ability to focus. It explains why it is harder to pay attention and how to enact small changes in your and (more importantly) children's lives to mitigate this, but is honest about how the only real change is through larger cultural movements to shift the actions of big tech companies since they are purposely targeting our attentions for profit.

A lovely fantasy with a touch of romance! 💕 If you're looking for something sweet & cozy, with low stakes & found family, this is the perfect book. Ambrose is upset when Eli opens a rival potion shop across the street but their animosity & competition is tested when they are commissioned together on a big project. Set in a queer normative world filled with elves & orcs, potions & wands, the most important theme is finding your place and purpose

Kenyazero This sounds very fun! 2y

This was a really interesting look into Nora Ephron's career, specifically her three most famous romcoms. It goes into a ton of detail about the whole production process from the initial concept, to writing, casting, filming, & the repercussions on the film industry as a whole. There were so many names that were impossible to keep up with but despite that it was a pretty easy read. It also gave some insight into ⤵️

This book was funny, sweet, and surprisingly spicy 🔥 Marvin is a queer Jewish kindergarten teacher and Olan is the hot single dad of his newest student 😉 These characters are flawed but lovable & super relatable as they deal with past trauma & navigating a future together. Add in an adorable child, supportive friends & the snuggliest cat for 🧑🏼‍🍳😘
