Season of Love
Season of Love | Helena Greer
"A witty, glittering rom-com about finding the courage to face your past and learning what it truly means to return home, perfect for fans of Jenny Bayliss and Alexandra Bellefleur. Artist Miriam Blum has her decoupaged glitter ducks perfectly lined up. Only for one phone call to bring her whole life all crashing down. Her beloved and eccentric great-aunt has just died-leaving her part-owner of the only Jewish-owned Christmas tree farm in the country. Facing the family Miriam abandoned terrifies her. But facing the farm's unbelievably sexy zaftig manager is another complication entirely... Noelle Northwood is horrified that the first woman she's been attracted to in years is the same careless virago whose absence devastated the people Noelle considers family. She hates, even more, the thought of working alongside Miriam to save Carrigan's Christmas Tree Farmland. Only Miriam decides to give working at the farm a trial run, and Noelle must find a way to keep the peace-and their undeniable chemistry at bay. At least until the end of the holiday season. But when the ghosts of the past endanger the farmland, both Miriam and Noelle will need to put aside their misconceptions... and discover if what they've been looking for has been right in front of them all along"--

Two women brought together by grief become instant enemies & hate-work together to save the tree farm their departed loved one left behind. A charming fall/winter enemies to lovers holiday romance. I enjoyed the characters and how they worked through their respective trauma. I wish the dad had been a character and not just a boogie man, and that we got more of the tree farm flavor than the small glimpse. #LGBTQIA #RushathonChristmasBingo

Mehso-so

I haven‘t looked but I suspect that my absolute utter dislike of Noelle will be an unpopular opinion. I fell in love with all the other characters (even Tara!) but Noelle just got under my skin. So I didn‘t like the romance part of this romance and it made it difficult to get through since I never wanted to pick it up when a Noelle chapter was next. But I did really enjoy the Carrigan‘s aspect so in the end, this is a so-so for me.

Well I have to conclude this one is not for me. I think the bad southern accent in the audiobook distracted me from the fact that the writing is not working for me. I'm being told a lot of things but I don't feel like I'm really *feeling* them, you know? This friend Cole that Miriam has, I can tell he's supposed to be funny and charming but I just find him annoying lol. Oh well, good thing are so many sapphic holiday romances this year!

I really enjoyed Season of Love. It starts before thanksgiving and goes past the holiday season, it has both Jewish and Christian holidays/traditions/etc, which I‘m totally here for. It‘s a f/f romance, well done, serious and fun. I feel like Greer set it up nicely for a book featuring Miriam‘s cousin Hannah and her friend Cole. Can‘t wait!

From one sapphic holigay romance to another! At first I tried Season of Love as an #audiobook, but it didn't work for me (bad southern accent, yikes) so I am switching to print. Fingers crossed! #HappyHoligays #Romantsy #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks

Maybe my favorite holiday rom-com of the year. After learning of her beloved aunts death, Miriam returns to Carrigan's, her aunts Christmas farm-- which is a bit ironic since the family is Jewish. There, she learns that the farm has been left to her, her cousin, and the grumpy butch who doesn't see to want her there. It was the perfect mix of holiday cheer and feels.

Had a B&N GC I needed to spend. Entered with the idea to just buy the Diverse Spines book (my 2023 TBR will focus on rec‘s from this book), but got sucked in at the BOGO 1/2 off holiday table. 🎄🕎

A queer romance set at a Jewish-run tree farm that gets positive reviews for actually respecting Jewish culture? Yes please!!

And while I don‘t typically read Xmas romances, one set at a cat cafe was hard to pass up. I‘m in it for the 🐈 🐈‍⬛!

ShelleyBooksie How did I not know that a cat cafe Christmas book existed. Amazing!! Thank you for sharing. 2y
