This psychological thriller follows a family to their Appalachian farmhouse, where they encounter an unimaginable horror. In the summer of 1994, psychologist Daniel Hill buys a rustic farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of West Virginia. Along with his wife and teenage daughter, the family uproots their lives in Ohio and moves south. They are initially seduced by the natural beauty of the country setting. That soon changes when they discover a hidden room in the basement with a well, boarded shut and adorned with crucifixes. Local legends about the previous owner being an exorcist come to light, but by then, all Hell has broken loose. This 1990s horror novel is perfect for fans of family thriller books, stories of demonic possession, exorcism fiction, the occult, or thrillers like The Exorcist, A Head Full of Ghosts, and The Amityville Horror. Proudly represented by Crystal Lake Publishing-Tales from the Darkest Depths.

Exactly what I would look for in the horror genre. Everything spoke to me. Well written! THIS is what scares me.

And no worries … the author doesn‘t use cheap sexcapades … no cringy sex scenes!! I was going to say he leaves his childhood fantasies behind but maybe this is his fantasy … as deep dark and depraved as it is.

Great audiobook! The narrator had a great demonic voice.

I loved the ending! Fantastic Halloween book!

🌟🌟🌟1/2 A pretty good shot at an old, well used trope. Definitely@had some good scary scenes but followed up by some cringe worthy lines of old.

Finished my first book of this year. And what a story it is 😳 I usually don‘t get creeped out easily but this one done it. I ended up reading it during the day (because who knows what lures in the dark, am I right?) Summery: A family moves into a house that used to belong to an exorcist. 👀👀👀

In 1994, a family moves in to a house that was previously was occupied by an exorcist. And scary stuff starts to happen. Nothing super original or a shocking twist, but still a great time. (Also a few typos, which takes me out of the story, but that‘s easy to fix).
