pickThe characters in "Memorials," especially Troy, were super likeable.
I loved how Chizmar kept me guessing with the video transcripts, and that twist ending came out of nowhere!
While the pacing dragged a bit, it kept me hooked. I just wish it got creepier - it started to but never went as dark as I hoped.
Something was missing though. I can't quite pin down and held off writing my review while I thought about it. I still recommend the book.
I am probably going to finish this tonight! I have got to know how it ends!!!

I got my copy of Memorials by Richard Chizmar on the release date (this Tuesday). I was up against a bunch of deadlines with my work so I wouldn't let myself start the book. It just sat next to my desk taunting me.
Today after another agonizingly long Zoom meeting I said f@$k it...shut off my computer and grabbed the book.
Here's to an evening or reading!!
so-soThis trilogy was fun to read but I had a hard time giving it a rating. The first book was amazing and each author's style shined through and complimented each other.
The second book was ok but the third book took a huge leap that cheapened the entire trilogy a bit. But it's in the third book that you see how interwoven King's universe was in the entire story. It's a hard call but overall I really enjoyed the trilogy as a whole.

The book's concept of a threat within a threat was a great twist though I would have loved to see that played out a little longer.
That being said this book had my skin crawling at times. The various additional resources sprinkled throughout the book gave a back story to the plot line.
Overall The Troop kept me reading and guessing on who would make it out, if anyone.
pickIt was creepy and I wish I had not started reading alone at night in bed.
The Exorcist's House reads like a good horror movie. Creepy basements, demons, and a man with a haunted history all time together in one great book!
I can't wait to see what's next from this series!

When I finally broke down and bought it I tore through the book, finishing it in a couple of days. I really liked the story and it was an easy read.
For a book titled Spells for Forgetting there wasn't a whole lot of magic. It hummed in the background and was mentioned often but very rarely put into action. I needed a lot more magic.
Well my morning work sesh at the Starbucks in Barnes and Noble resulted in a little less work and a new book 🤣🤣🤣 I have had it on my TBR list for entirely to long.
pick*The Mudpuddle Manual of Natural Magic* is such a fun and engaging read, I didn‘t want to put it down—or finish! It gives a fresh take on witches, Fae, shifters, and even has a little nod to vampires. The characters, especially Maida, are so well-crafted that you can‘t help but get pulled into their magical world. The story keeps you hooked, and I can‘t wait for the next book in the series!

pick"Haunted Halls" by W.A. Roberts: A thrilling page-turner that's creepy from the start. Fast-paced with well-written scares, it kept me up all night. The main character didn't always click, but the mystery had me hooked. Loved the ending, though I wanted more about the intriguing neighbor. Perfect for horror fans - a great haunted house tale!

This is the first book I have paid retail for in a long time! Sticker shock! I sit in a Starbucks in Barnes and Noble on Tuesdays to work which is the same day they put out all the new books...I usually manage to not buy a book every time but this one caught my eye!
I almost didn't finish it. The triggers were almost too much.
Did I like the book? I guess so, I kept reading because I needed to know how it ended.
I skimmed a lot and about the last 40% of the book made me super uncomfortable.
I am left feeling uncomfortable and sad after finishing this book. It is not one I would recommend to people.
It's been awhile since I have read Stephen King. I love that this is a book of his short stories. My love of reading started with Stephen King!!

pickI couldn't put this book down. I usually don't like a book that jumps back and forth in time but it worked for this story line. This book is one of my new favorites.
so-soI liked this book well enough to keep reading it and wanting to know the end. But there really isn't an ending. Also there were a few writing errors that while small were annoying to me. Also on a side note...her 10 year old started her period...why? It didn't add anything to the further the story line and was really odd to just throw in there. So yes I enjoyed it but I wanted so much more!

When you start a new book right before bed and then wake up to the feeling of something grabbing your foot...I think this book is for daytime reading only for me. It's not even overtly creepy the book just has an underlying feeling of spookiness. I think I'm going to love it!

panI read this book without reading the description. I was drawn to the cover and had seen a few people recommend it. That being said I don't typically read "smutty" books but was sucked in.
My biggest problem with this book is the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days plot twist. It seemed like an after thought as if the author saw that the plot was lazy and wanted to just throw something in there.
