Red is trying (and fighting) her way through dangerous woods to get to her grandmother since the planet was ravaged by a deadly virus. There is more out there then just people who steal and kill. Red is a smart and a survivor.
Absolutely fantastic book! A dark re-telling of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. Brilliantly told. Dark, twisty and very creative. Some content warning! Alice escapes the asylum with Hatcher, where she has been for many years. To seek revenge. To find the rabbit and to regain her memory.
Finished my first book of this year. And what a story it is 😳 I usually don‘t get creeped out easily but this one done it. I ended up reading it during the day (because who knows what lures in the dark, am I right?) Summery: A family moves into a house that used to belong to an exorcist. 👀👀👀
Ghost story and solve a crime? A must-read for me and so far my favorite by the author. Shea Collins runs a website for unsolved crimes (named The Book of Cold Cases) and one day runs into Beth Greer, who was acquitted of murder in the 1970s of 2 men. Shea asks for and interview and Beth agrees. Is Beth Greer really a murder? And what is really going on in Beth‘s mansion?
5 Solid Stars! Ever since Hannibal Lector I have an empty spot.. nothing could ever replace him nor could I ever find someone quite like him.. that is until I found Timothy Blake.. if you‘re a fan Thomas Harris books surrounding Hannibal Lector then you might want to read this. I devoured book #1 (Hangman) and now I need to read the whole series.

Perfect read for those gloomy days (and nights) before Halloween 🎃 After her mom dies, Quinn and her dad move to a small town named Kettle Springs. What is supposed to be a new beginning, turns out to be a nightmare. A Killer Clown is killing all the teenagers in the small town. Quite a slasher - despite being a YA. I loved it!

I read a few memoirs and this one is definitely one that will stay with me for a long time. Jennette is a very skilled writer and unfortunately she was able to show us her amazing skills until now. Her memoir is one of a dark childhood, with a very manipulative and abusive mother and also shows Hollywood in a much darker light (but always kinda knew that, right?) 5 Stars and i highly recommend this!
Almost DNF‘ed this book. 5 friends want to celebrate a wedding in a haunted mansion. It‘s foundation rests on bones of a bride who is waiting for her groom. The walls are full of remains from sacrificed girls to keep her company. What could go wrong?
Not scary, story is jumpy, and keep google close by. Lots of Japanese words with no translations or footnotes to explain their meanings.
Good book.. but was it worth the hype? Not so much IMO.. Mallory, a former drug addict, takes on a job as a nanny. She is babysitting Teddy. A sweet 5 year old boy who is talking to an invisible friend named Anya and who draws scary pictures. And then things get even weirder. And Teddy‘s parents don‘t believe her.

I usually don‘t read ghosts stories because they usually bore me but this one is a solid one. It‘s creepy, fast-paced, claustrophobic, and yeah.. ghosts.. under water.
In 1928 the SS Arcadia sinks without a trace close to the Swedish coast. 60 years later her wreck has been discover and a crew of 6 people sets out to explore the wreck and to film their exploration. What they find is more down at the bottom is more than just a wreck.

3 Stars from me. While it was a good story with interesting characters I just expected more suspense? Maybe? Maybe it was the narration of the book why I wasn‘t to fond of it.

5 kids survive a cults horrific ending. The trauma of it haunts them every day. Each of them in a different kind of way.
The story is told in sequences - present and past. It keeps you guessing what happened and what will happen. I have it 4 stars because I was hoping for a different ending. Maybe? I am still it sure if I like the ending or not. It‘s a definitely shocking, riveting, unsettling book about cults.
this book is a must-read! I wasn‘t aware of woman‘s (and children‘s) problems of using the bathroom in third world countries can be fatal. And did you know that automobile ratings are completely wrong? This book is full of information that will make your jaw drop. Some were known to me, most were not. Very informative! I highly recommend this book!

5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you have to read the book without really knowing what it is about! You are in for a treat! People kept telling me for years to read this book but I never listened. I feel bad now because this book will blow your mind. To keep it simple: A federal Agent is set out to find two fellow missing agents and he finds himself in a small, idyllic town named Wayward Pines. A typical American small town. With a secret. A big secret.
5 Stars. This one is a bit gritty/gory BUT I loved it. It‘s a story about a couple named Nick and Jess and they decide to commit suicide after Jess has a miscarriage. Once they are dead, they arrive in a world, named the Black Farm, where all the suicides go. Nick sets out to find Jess and finds terror, torture and other ungodly things. While the theme of the books is pretty dark, I loved the story. This book isn‘t for everyone so be aware.
4 chapters in and I am in awe of this book! I recently started reading Fantasy books and the worlds I have discovered are just beyond beautiful. With amazing world and character building. I am hooked and I need more of these kinds of books.
If you‘re into gory, extreme horror - then this book is it!
I used to grow up with movies like brain dead, re-animator, the evil dead and faces of death (80s horror was and still is awesome) and this book reminded me of that great horror movie decade.

Fantastic and epic Fantasy! Definitely a 5 star book! The author built an amazing world and characters. I couldn‘t get enough. I‘ve read it so fast! This is book one in a series. Unfortunately I couldn‘t find a release date for book two. This book is about prophecies, forbidden magic, adventure and politics set in pre-columbian americas.
Good Book. I‘ll give it 4 Stars. If you love/loved the 80s and love the movie “the exorcist”, then this is the right book for you! Summary of this book: 2 friends, growing up in the 80s until that one fateful day, one of them has a demon occupying her body. And everything goes south from there. Fast. The other friend tries to save her. But will she be able to save her?
I listened to the audiobook due to the highly recommended narration of this book. And rightfully so. This is one amazing story! Fantasy mixed with LGBTQ+, and how to deal with bully‘s. This book is excellent for Teenagers but also adults who just want to fall in love with characters that will teach you to never judge a book by its cover! Listen to your heart and you‘ll chose your destiny. 5 ⭐️ from me!
Currently reading this. It‘s a story about witches, sisterhood, magic and their fight for equality! The Eastwood sisters Juniper, Agnes and Bella join the suffragist of New Salem. They turn the woman‘s movement into a witches movement. Hunted by dark forces they draw new alliances, draw old magic and together they create an power that is ferocious to say the least. Powerful and breathtaking book!

This book follows Augustine and Sully. Two people, in two different places. One on board of a spacecraft and the other in the the cold Arctic.
It‘s a story about survival, past and present, regret and identity. I don‘t want to give to much away. It‘s amazingly written. The only thing I didn‘t like was the questions it left me. I still have so many questions and I didn‘t get the answers at the end of the book.
Almost done reading this book and it‘s such a beautiful, tense, unique and eerie written book. It‘s a dark and dramatic tale of oppression and rebellion, ideology and morality. “A young woman named Immanuelle Moore, lives in a rigid, puritanical society when she discovers dark powers within herself.”

My second read from Caitlin Doughty (I am still trying to catch up with all her YouTube videos “ask a mortician”) and it‘s a very informative book about death and dead bodies - asked my children. With science and humor she is answering all important questions (and questions you never thought about to ask) and she is able to squash your fear about death and turn it into knowledge and fascination. Great book with amazing and funny illustrations!
Amazing and highly informative book. I follow Caitlin Doughty on YouTube. Her channel is called: Ask a Mortician. This book is part biography, history facts, a few fun facts, mixed with curiosity for the reader and some philosophical thoughts. Just a great read for the curious minds.

this was for me one of the harder books to read. You want to scream, want to throw the book against the wall but instead you continue to follow the dark road as Vanessa does. I felt what she feels and sometimes it was hard to endure. This book is so important to read because we finally are able to talk about our own traumas. This book hit quite a nerve and rightfully so. Great Book about a young‘s girls mental state. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was I felt the ending was meh. I do think the ending would reflect real life, but I wanted a shocking ending, a plot twist. Otherwise a great read.

I tend to buy books that have appealing titles. Bought this one and finished it in one day. Dr. Harper is a fictional name and the person who actually wrote this, is on Reddit. Sharing/telling stories and was encouraged to write a book. Its an interesting book, and as soon as I was finished I realized, the story isn‘t over. So I bought the second one. Cause we always wanna know how it ends right? It‘s a good read, not 5 Stars worth though.
I just finished her Audiobook (read by the author herself). And I must say, I liked her before but now I love her and respect her so much. She had some tuff times growing up, and trying to become a comedian as a black woman was also hard. But she did it and she just has an amazing personality!
Have you ever seen on FB videos from “Juggling the Jenkins? Her videos are about being a mom, addiction, life and anxiety. I have been following her for a while on social media and when I found out she wrote a book about her previous life as an addict, I had to get it and read it. It took me only 5 hours to read her memoir. It‘s about her opiate addiction, going to Jail, her desperate decisions, and her recovery. This is an honest and raw book.
