Luck of the Loch Ness Monster
Luck of the Loch Ness Monster: A Tale of Picky Eating | Alice Weaver Flaherty
2 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
Once upon a time, on a long, slow trip to Scotland, a little girl named Katerina-Elizabeth tossed her oatmeal overboardagain, and again, and again. She was a picky eater, and oatmeal was her least favorite food. And once upon a time, a small worm, no bigger than a piece of thread, swam alongside an ocean liner bound for Scotland and ate bowl after bowl of tossed oatmeal. He had never tasted anything as wonderful as oatmeal in his whole life. A. W. Flaherty and Scott Magoon unravel the Loch Ness legend in this whimsical picture book for the picky (and not-so-picky) eater in all of us.

Pickpick

My son and I discovered this treasure at the library last week, and I think I'll have to buy a copy! It's a bedtime staple for us now. Katerina Elizabeth, a little American girl on her way to Scotland, throws out her gooey oatmeal every morning, and a sea worm starts eating it. They become friends, the sea worm grows to ginormous proportions, and the rest is history...kind of. Very cute little tale!

RealLifeReading Sounds awesome. 8y
readinginthedark @RealLifeReading It is! My son just giggles and shouts out random parts. Lots of love for this in our household. 8y
