The Christmas Postcards
The Christmas Postcards: The Stay-Up-All-Night, Spellbinding New Romance from the Sunday Times Bestselling Author | Karen Swan
4 posts | 3 read
'Karen Swan is the queen of destination fiction' Woman & Home Set in a snow-covered Cotswolds village, The Christmas Postcards is the unmissable, spellbinding new book from the Sunday Times bestseller Karen Swan *** The right words can change everything . . . It had been a make-or-break holiday for their marriage, but Natasha and Robs rekindled romance is short-lived when their daughters beloved soft toy disappears on the journey home. As Natasha comforts her distraught child, she turns to social media for help. Miraculously, the toy is found, but it has become the lucky mascot of a man named Duffy, who is thousands of miles away trekking in Nepal. When Duffy promises to keep Natasha updated with pictures, a correspondence begins that soon becomes more meaningful. Sometimes, Natasha feels this stranger half way across the world understands her more than the man lying next to her. But as the weeks pass and Duffy heads deeper into the mountains, Natasha notices a change in him. Then one day, the messages stop. Too late, Natasha wonders why he had ever needed a lucky mascot at all. *Readers are falling in love with The Christmas Postcards* 'I was enthralled from the first pages' 5* reader review 'Definitely my favourite Karen Swan book so far' 5* reader review 'The story gripped me right from the start and still hasn't let me go. I‘m attempting a festive read on audio. (Bah humbug!) I wasn‘t feeling murdery, and Karen Swan is one of those authors who is SO popular (in a small uk public library) I can always call it research. I used to listen to Joanna Penn‘s self-publishing podcast, and you have to admire these authors who manage to churn out 2 books a year (if she is a real person. PLEASE tell me Karen Swan is a real person, someone?)

🗺️ Plot ok, but I can see a major plot twist coming and I‘m only on chapter 3.
🏔️ Locations. Somerset & Nepal. 👍
✍🏻 Writing 🙇🏻‍♀️ I mean it‘s fine. But.
👧 Fully rounded 3 year old characters❌. I may be asking too much!

monalyisha Tagging you to let you know that registration for Auld Lang Spine is open! (I always find your lists interesting…so I‘m giving you a heads-up even though I said I wasn‘t doing that.) Shh. Don‘t tell. 😅🙈 No pressure if you‘re busy this year! (edited) 12mo
rockpools @monalyisha 😂 Thank you! I LOVE doing Auld Lang Spine (even if I can never remember its name!) but this year‘s a bit mad and I haven‘t time to do it justice. I‘ll work on organising my life for next year (yeah, right!). No, seriously- this is one I want to do properly when I do it, so will try for next year. Thank you for the tag Alyisha 😘 12mo
monalyisha Of course! I totally understand. My life‘s been a bit wacky lately, too. Good luck! 12mo

Train reading 🚂📖☕️🫶🏼 on my way to Berlin for the first time in ages!! Aeons!!

It won‘t be all fun and games for me there but part of the trip, mainly just time for walking by myself, I‘ll savor exquisitely 💓

Cinfhen Yay!! Enjoy!!! Did you have to leave Zelda behind??? ☹️ 2y
CoffeeAndABook @Cinfhen Definitely had to leave her behind - with my lovely husband. So she‘ll be more than fine 😁 we‘ve practiced riding the tram into town in Cologne and she HATES it so much!!! I don‘t think she would survive a six hour train ride. I on the other hand LOVE it 🚂💓 and some alone time as well ☺️ 2y
Cinfhen At least Zelda is in good hands!! And you‘re right!!! So nice to have a bit of me time ♥️ (edited) 2y

marleed I‘m forever intrigued by those you can take train rides to get from here to there! Enjoy! 2y
TheBookHippie @CoffeeAndABook I love the train. 2y
CoffeeAndABook @TheBookHippie same here!! I missed it so much during COVID. And now that we have a sweet but often fearful rescue dog I often take the car because she HATES train and tram riding 😝 silly girl!! 🐾🐾 2y

Pickpick

This is a lovely heartwarming story. It‘s not all hearts and flowers as there is some sadness and heartbreak along the way. Parts of the book are set on the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal, all described superbly. The other parts of this delightful book are set in Somerset and very picturesque it sounds, too. It‘s a story of fate and misconceptions but ultimately it‘s a story of love and what we do for that love. #Pigeonhole #Netgalley
