I won't even justify this one by posting it's cover. I'm not generally offended by "taboo" romance. But honestly, the title and description of this one is misleading in a way that feels creepy considering her and her "fiance" part ways amicably before anything happens with his dad, but I digress.
⚠️ The massive problem here is that their first sexual encounter is *literally* sexual assault bc she's ASLEEP and not able to give consent. HARD PASS.
Jas16 That would be a hard pass for me too. 2y
Julsmarshall oof 2y
ChaoticMissAdventures Always amazed when authors try to pass off assault for something that could be okay, even sexy or romantic. I hope we can eventually get past this idea. 2y

RaeLovesToRead I got similarly mad at this happening in Stoner. Everyone goes on about how awesome it is, but I'm like... I'm supposed to feel sorry for this dude who rapes his wife while she sleeps?! Similar beef with Sirens of Titan. 2y
swishandflick "Taboo" romantic plots aren't an automatic pass for me (there have been many that I enjoy!) but things being mutually consensual is not negotiable ??♀️ @Jas16 @Julsmarshall @ChaoticMissAdventures @vlwelser @MoonWitch94 @Bookwormjillk @Gissy @ravenlee @RaeLovesToRead 2y
MoonWitch94 @swishandflick I agree. I don‘t automatically pass, but consent is important. 2y
marleed It‘s hard for me to pan a book because it‘s so often about my mood on that day as a reader. But when I‘m personally offended by what I read and what I feel I‘m suppose to accept as okay, it‘s an easy pan for me. I would have panned this one too! 2y
Megabooks Yup. Hard pass on the Luke and Laura romance!! 🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️ 2y
