I guess this is a thriller but it didn't feel quite as intense as a thriller should. I still liked it, though., and it has lots of twists. It was fun to watch all the characters try to manipulate each other. The ending was not as satisfying as I would have liked.

Finished up this one today! It was good, not as good as some of the authors other books, but still a interesting read. This author has become an auto-but author for me. #scarathlon @Bookwormjillk

Jane is sure she‘s a sociopath and struggles with human interaction. Then she meets Thalia in their MFA program and is completely smitten. We know something went wrong and they are no longer in touch, then suddenly Thalia‘s book bursts on the scene as the literary darling. I like that this book didn‘t go where I expected and I found the second half pretty delicious. Don‘t be looking for the lighthearted vibe of her recent books in this one!

The ending wasn‘t all it could be, but it‘s pretty entertaining as an overall read.

⭐️⭐️💫

This is definitely a different vibe than the Auntie or Vera Wong books! (I‘m a huge fan of those!) I‘m impressed that Jesse Q. Sutanto is so versatile. Unfortunately, for me, this wasn‘t as original or memorable as some of her other books, but it was entertaining. 🎧

This book is great! Jane, a self-diagnosed sociopath, is swept off her feet when she meets the beautiful and charismatic Thalia at a creative writing MFA cohort at Oxford. Unfortunately, their friendship is short lived due to an untimely death that disrupts their lives and leaves Jane in a state of panic and depression. Years later, Jane is unhappily married and is thrilled when she finds a way to reconnect with her long lost bestie. So hyped!!!💜

Expected publication: 22 August 2023

I am a huge fan of Sutanto‘s hilarious, cozy“ Auntie“ books. This latest novel is a twisty, turney thriller, that is not so lighthearted. Two writing students, Jane and Thalia, are implicated in a bloody night of murder at Oxford. After Thalia disappears, Jane is obsessed with finding her former best friend. When Thalia publishes a best-selling novel, Jane finds her chance to confront her at a book convention.

Larkken Ooo! Looks interesting! …But I am sad her next book isn‘t a Vera Wang sequel 💕 9mo
suvata @Larkken it‘s a totally different kind of book for her 9mo
