The 9 year old loved this one. I think this one might be my favorite of the series. The message of hope & protecting the environment resonates strong here. I really wish there was a Roz that could be out there to stop the destruction to our environment.

TheBookHippie Me too!!!! I so love this series. 3mo

It's been a minute since I read the first two Wild Robot books. I honestly don't remember them going this hard. The story conveys much in a way accessible to younger readers, it features the return of many beloved characters, but it also confronts: environmental pollution, undersea mining, the damage done in harvesting the minerals today (and likely the future)'s tech demands, 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? the extent to which individuals can make a difference, the limits of negotiating with for profit concerns, the possibility of more radical dismantling of harmful industrial equipment, the importance of the ocean ecosystem kept in balance. Yes, it's about a level of robot intelligence we've yet to see, and a bunch of anthropomorphic animals, but it also features humans who want to do better. 5mo
Robotswithpersonality 3/? If this is the message that's going out to the youngest generation from a writer representing an older generation, then I am filled with a new wave of that all important HOPE. ♥️ 5mo
Robotswithpersonality 4/4 There are, as the author states in the end note, other themes at play: home, parenthood, but they work best to underline the environmental concerns: all homes, all futures are threatened if action is not taken to clean up and protect the oceans, among other environments.

Book 3 in series. The first book remains the best.

Roz goes on a mission to save her island from the poison tide. Although she met me friends along the way, I enjoy her interactions with her island friends most.

In the afterword the author claims to not want this book to be preachy/moralistic but it is a smidge.

I was super excited to come across this the other day. The third Wild Robot book is scheduled to be released at the end of September! I know several people on my feed really enjoyed the first two Wild Robot books like I did so I thought would share. 💗🤖
