Now available in paperback, Miss Peregrine meets The Graveyard Book in this middle grade adventure about rival siblings running a monster mortuary. ? Thirteen-year-old Molly doesn't know how she got the short end of the stick--being raised by her neglectful father--while Dustin, the older brother she's never met, got their mother and the keys to the family estate. But now the siblings are both orphaned, she's come home for her inheritance, and if Dustin won't welcome her into the family business, then she'll happily take her half in cash. There's just one problem: the family business is a mortuary for monsters, and Molly's not sure she's ready to deal with mysterious doors, talking wolves, a rogue devourer of magic, and a secret cemetery. It's going to take all of Dustin's stuffy supernatural knowledge and Molly's most heroic cosplay (plus a little help from non-human friends) for the siblings to figure it out and save the day...if only they can get along for five minutes. Bestselling author Chuck Wendig's middle grade debut is equal parts spooky, funny, and heartfelt--perfect for Halloween and year-round reading!

Billed as a story about siblings who run a funeral home for monsters, this MG book is, in fact, more about a broken family, rivalry, jealousy, & secrets with a healthy dose of mystery & yes, monsters (although they don‘t really make an appearance until late in the story). With plenty of humor & just the right amount of spookiness, this is a good story for young readers looking to get into the autumnal/Halloween mood. Entertaining read.

Spent some time in Barnes and Noble this morning and tried to show some restraint. The top 3 are for my youngest kiddo, though I'm planning to read the first two with him (how cute is that Dust and Grim cover?!). Bottom two are ones I've been wanting for me. Even just a half hour spent in a bookshop restores my soul a little bit.

Clare-Dragonfly I am very intrigued by the one at the bottom right! 2y
Traci1 @Clare-Dragonfly I really enjoyed her Dial A for Aunties, so I'm hopeful that one is just as good. 2y

This was a fun Middle Grade from Chuck Wendig. I enjoyed the sibling relationship along with their relationships with their supernatural friends daylong the way. Hilarious! Monsters! Mayhem! Mortuaries! Pop culture references so obscure you won‘t know what the heck is going on, but in a good way. 😂 We loved this. Comes out in October!

TEArificbooks Is it a graphic novel? It looks like a good Halloween book. 3y
PNWBookseller85 @mdm139 not a graphic novel. A middle grade novel. It‘s a great Halloween book! 3y
