Sometimes We Don't Escape
Sometimes We Don't Escape | Jae Mazer
2 posts | 2 read
Blood and bone. Ghosts and flesh. Pleasure and Pain. These pages contain morsels of darkness and despair-a birthday and death collide, a grotesque twist on an urban legend, untreated mental illness that results in a heinous crime, specters and creatures entangled in the persecution of witches. These are just some of the stories featured in this collection. Don't be fooled. This is not a pretty thing on paper. There be blood, murder, sex, body horror, and dead children within. Read at your own risk.

Pickpick

Well-crafted creature & body horror short stories by Canadian talent Jae Mazer. Limbs and blood fly in vivid (and sometimes darkly comic) ways. I really enjoyed “He Likes Vanilla Cake The Best” and “Blubber Murray” (think “Thinner” meets Bloody Mary). “Aisle Four” is quite disturbing (moms who are not hardcore horror fans might want to skip it). #horror #Scarathlon #horrorbywomen #TeamWhoYaGonnaCall #31in31 #spookoween #OutstandingOctober

Reading truly frightening hard horror tales on a beautiful fall day. Bucket list item: horror by women. Canadian talent Jae Mazer never disappoints. #Scarathlon #bucketlist #horror #TeamWhoYaGonnaCall #31by31 #FangtasticReadathon #spookoween
