Haven‘t read this in 20 years, & the Netflix show it loosely inspired is great, so I gave it a listen. I love the drama & hyperbole of Poe! Had to read fast to finish this spooky page-turner of a team read! A fading rock star & his Goth girlfriend become stronger as they fight a vengeful ghost. As a writer, I may reread the first 50 pages, to appreciate the seamless introduction of the ghostly, hypnotizing stepfather. I think this is my favorite anthology so far even though it only had 3 authors for 13 stories. Each story was original and well-plotted with good imagery. These stories reminded me of “Outer Limits” or “Amazing Stories.” A good word search score for only having 147 pages = 2,340. 4.5 stars.

Well-crafted creature & body horror short stories by Canadian talent Jae Mazer. Limbs and blood fly in vivid (and sometimes darkly comic) ways. Another flash fiction anthology done. This one I liked a lot. It was a lot more cerebral horror than Dark Halloween, but the stories still packed a punch. It had a low weed search score at 230. 4 stars.

Loved how this book pays homage to the unnamed ppl burned at the stake for witchcraft.
