I honestly think this will make a much better film or TV series than it did a book.

So this one was…ok. The concept is excellent and I loved learning a bit about resignation syndrome and the phenomenon of possibly committing murder while sleep walking. However, the actions of some of the characters seemed kind of stupid (at one point a character grabs a murder weapon off the ground…everyone knows don‘t touch a murder weapon!) and the ending/big reveal was so easy to figure out! Plus side, the narrators were AMAZING! 🌟🌟🌟💫

Pickpick

This book has been compared to “The Silent Patient“ meets “Gone Girl“ and I think it is a fair comparison. The book is long and the plot is convoluted, but I found I could not put it down. There are a few really good twists and the sleep information was fascinating. There has been complaints about the writing style, but I found it compelling. I admit I was a little disappointed in the ending, but that is just me and my sense of justice. 4.25/5

WOW... Just WOW. I listened to the audio and read along with an ebook. I was blown away with this story. A first for me by this author.

Audio readers: Dan Stevens, Hannah Curtis, Sarah Cullum, and Christine Rendel. Told by four people and alternates in places between 1999 to 2023. To understand what happened now you have to know what happened then...

Anna Ogilvy hasn‘t opened her eyes for four years, since she was found asleep holding a knife, having killed her 2 best friends. Ben Prince is tasked with waking her up so she can face a trial.

Supposed to be a thriller, I think, my overall impression of this book was that it was LONG. At one point I thought I was halfway through but was only at 10%. 😬

A few other annoyances with editing ⬇️

squirrelbrain ….and writing style make it a so-so. There was a supposed diary, but it was written in first person present continuous (I am running etc) and who writes a diary like that? There were also case notes from doctors that were present tense and included reflective thoughts about themselves, not the patient. Both read like streams of consciousness thoughts, not what they were meant to be. The author needed different devices to move the plot on. 4mo
Megabooks That is a huge pet peeve of mine. No one is going to write a diary like that!! 4mo
BarbaraBB Hmmm.. thanks for reading this, I won‘t need to 😉 4mo
