It was an accident. It was dark, it was raining, Alison had only had two drinks. And the other car ran the stop sign. But Alison finds herself trapped under the crushing weight of grief and guilt, feeling increasingly estranged from her husband Charlies, who has his own burdens.

This was just okay. I‘ve loved the other books I‘ve read by this author but had a hard time with this one. Two of the main characters were difficult to deal with. I finished it because it was short.

A novel that opens with a woman who, after leaving a party where she had two drinks, gets into a car accident that leaves a small child dead. The traumatic experience reverberates throughout her life, marriage, and friendships. At least it was a quick read.

I thought this book was just ok. Wordy and I had the plot figured out halfway through the end. Does make you think who your REAL friends are.

They are running behind at my eye doctor appointment. Glad I brought my book! It‘s nice to sneak in some reading on a work day. 🤓

RadicalReader @LiteraryinLititz never a bad time to have a book in hand especially when it comes to appointments 7y

BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m guessing that‘s not set in the Lancaster County town of the same name! 😎 7y
alisiakae I would get a kick out of this if it is set in Bird in Hand, PA! I remember the first time I drove through Bird in Hand, Intercourse, Blue Balls, and Paradise on a middle school field trip...you can imagine the bus talk. 😂😂😂 (edited) 7y
Mitch Getting reading time when you‘re not expecting it is the best feeling - it needs a word! 7y
