Jodi Picoult, #1 New York Times bestselling author A timeless tale of unwavering devotion, The Days I Loved You Most is a love story for the agesan achingly beautiful novel that asks, What if you could choose how your own story ends? Joseph and Evelyns New England beach homes have been side by side for generations. And in the summer of 1941, on the shores where they were raised, these two childhood friends fell in love. Now, more than sixty years later, with a lifetime between them, Joseph and Evelyn gather their three grown children to share the staggering news: she has received a tragic diagnosis, and he cannot live without her. So in one years time, they will end their lives on their own terms. As the couple comes to grips with their fate, they retrace their pastthe joys and regrets, the laughter and the sorrowthat brought them to this moment. I feel bad I didn‘t like this more. Well-written, but maybe too many POVs? Also, I didn‘t get this epic love story that was supposedly between Joseph and Evelyn.

I thought this story was interestingly told. A couple together for 60+ years with one facing debilitating illness plan to die together rather than one surviving without the other. The intriguing part was telling their backstory and the many hardships of their marriage. It‘s also what makes the story beautiful - those hard times when we often love the hardest.

This is a beautifully written story about a couple that love each other more than life. Literally more than life.

This is a must read. A real tearjerker though so be warned. It's so good.

The MCs children were about my age and grew up in the 1960s through JFK‘s murder, civil rights, Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, and later 9/11, to name a few. I really wanted to care about them more but I couldn‘t. I rated it 3.5 ⭐️s. Anyone else read it yet?
