Seeing as our baby‘s due in the first week of June, I‘m pretty much reusing my entire May list for #BookSpinBingo, minus the three books I‘ve finished this month. 😅 They‘ve been replaced with my June #Roll100 choices. I know for a fact I probably won‘t make ANY headway with this list, but I still like having narrower options for what to read next on my TBR. ❤️👍❤️
Some of these I‘m already currently reading, so there‘s hope I guess. 😜

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Baby time is getting so close!! My sister had her baby this past Monday and everyone is doing great. Hope it goes smoothly for you, too!! 2h
AmyG Omg how exciting! Wishing you an easy delivery. ❤️ @TheAromaofBooks Congrats Auntie! (edited) 2h

This is the technical conclusion of the Lunar Chronicles (although there are also two graphic novels and some short stories) and although it was 823pgs, it didn't feel too long as there was SO much going on. I felt like the build-up to the rebellion was realistic in both the setbacks and successes. Reading Fairest before this book really did work, because I felt more connected to Levana and her choices as well. Overall, I 100% recommend this ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) series. I loved the fairy tale echoes and also fell in love with basically every character haha

TheSpineView Awesome! 7h
Yuki_Onna Another perfect colour match! How do you keep doing that? 7h

TheAromaofBooks @Yuki_Onna - It's honestly pure luck 😂 I read a book and then flip through the color choices and sometimes it works!! 6h
Yuki_Onna Yeah, but you always get them so perfectly! 🤩 5h
TheAromaofBooks @Yuki_Onna - Well thank you!! I think it helps that I read a lot of romances and YA - they tend to have fun colors on the covers!! 4h
Clare-Dragonfly There are 2 graphic novels?! I‘m pretty sure I‘ve only read one… 3h
Clare-Dragonfly Now that I see it‘s just “volume 2” I‘m not certain whether I‘ve read it, but I‘ll find out when I pick up my hold 😁 3h
Clwojick Great match! 💜 3h
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - Yes, they are volumes 1 & 2 and are definitely two parts of the same story. The second book starts with a little sum-up of what happened in the first book, so you could probably read it on its own? But together they are pretty fun to see things happening to all the characters. 2h

Cawdor and Medea | Robinson Jeffers

Pickpick

Robinson Jeffers is my husband's favorite poet. He introduced me to the poet by having us read this book together.

Cawdor: this was a story written in prose. It had beautiful language but the story was OK.

Madea: this was a play based on a Greek tragedy. Theme: don't mess with an angry woman. I really liked this one.
3.5 ⭐️

vonnie862 Dog: this is Ebony, my baby. She hates taking pictures but she also hates it when my focus is elsewhere. This is her saying, "Mommy, pay attention to me." 9h

Putting my buddy reads in the 20-23 as will only probably get to one as the other two are waiting on library holds to come through. 24-25 are free spaces as I‘m meeting my friend next week for a much overdue (pun intended) book swap and no idea what I‘m getting from her. TMI probably but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay, it‘s quite a mess. Here is my June #bookspinbingo #doublebookspin list for June. I‘m hoping to crush this TBR along with teaching summer school starting after a week off. 😅 @TheAromaofBooks

This was not for me. It‘s well written but I just didn‘t care enough about the MC, Johanna, and I never really got invested in her story. I did enjoy the 90s setting and music references, though! I would‘ve bailed but I was using this for #pop22 for a book with a misleading title, as this is indeed not a how-to manual about building a human female from scratch. 😂

TheAromaofBooks At least you got a prompt checked off with it! 😂 11h

The Rising Tide | Ann Cleeves

#TheRisingTide #AnnCleeves #BookSpinBingo

For fifty years a group of friends have been meeting for reunions on Holy Island, celebrating the school trip where they met, and the friend that they lost to the rising tide five years later. Now, when one of them is found hanged, Vera is called in.

EadieB Learning that the dead man had recently been fired after misconduct and allegations, Vera knows she must discover what the friends are hiding, and whether the events of many years before could have led to murder then, and now.
This is book number 10 in the Vera series. I have read all the others before so I am very familiar with the series.

EadieB It is a series of characters that speak for the author and the plot is such that I have kept the pages turning until the very surprising ending. It is very hard to guess the killer as Ann Cleeves does not leave anything unturned until the very end. I look forward to the next book as I have enjoyed each one. If you love thrillers then you will love this one. I would like to thank NetGalley and Minotaur Books for a copy for an honest review. 14h

Andrew65 @EadieB For most other authors I would get a bit frustrated with this, but she definitely makes it work. (edited) 14h
EadieB @Andrew65 You can‘t try to figure it out so you just go with until the end! 14h
Andrew65 @EadieB Exactly that! She does write great books and stories. 14h
EadieB @Andrew65 Yes she does! 14h
TheAromaofBooks I read a few of Cleeves's books earlier this year and really enjoyed them. I need to pick some back up!! 11h
