Pickpick

A great few reads.
This book contains the works of none other than the masters themselves: Bram Stoker, HG Wells, HP Lovecraft, Roald Dahl, Stephen King, Robert Bloch and Edgar Allan Poe! All great tales of terror and supernatural occurrences.
This is definitely a book that I would recommend to any horror fan to add to their library.

3. A Thing About Machines by Rod Serling 👍👏🏽This was fun. A total Twilight Zone episode
4. A Woman Seldom Found by William Sansom 👎🏼😒Nope.

Batting 1/4 here and the next story is called 'The Squaw' so I'm not holding my breath.

I thought some short stories would be a good palate cleanser but the first two were underwhelming. I hope they get better. There are some great authors in here. 😕 At least the cover art is horrifying.

1. Wood by Robert Aickman 👎🏼🤔I have no idea what I just read.
2. The Bird by Thomas Burke 👎🏼😖 WTF did I just read?

MrBook Aww. 8y
DebinHawaii It seems to be that way with horror collections. I am of the opinion that ALL the stories should scare me or at least creep me out! 😱😱😱 8y
quirkyreader I like older collections. At times the older stories can be more vivid and scarier. Of course this is coming from a person who saw their first Lovecraft based film at aged 3. 8y
Kirstin @DebinHawaii ~In a perfect world...I rarely read anthologies for that reason. 8y
Kirstin @quirkyreader ~I like the older stories too and all the greats are in this collection but, so far, it seems very dated. Ever since I can remember, I have loved to be scared. My dad loved horror novels and movies and passed that love on to me. 8y
