Some library holds that I put in so long ago that I‘d forgotten about them came through… and this was one of them! I don‘t remember why I requested it - but it was fun read (possibly would have been more fun if I‘d been to Youth Group or watched Buffy in my formative years).

The have you heard of Smash Mouth line made me laugh.

Cynical Kay discovers that corny religious youth groups have a badass secret -- they're actual demon hunters. But if they don't learn to work together -- Catholics, Evangelicals, Jews and Wiccans -- the demons might succeed in hunting them.

This is funny, scary, and somewhat gory. I was irked by the casual response to Kay's legit concerns about Evangelical groups as shown above, but it is explored more later, though still not in great depth.

4 ⭐I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I‘m one of those people who grew not like the church. However, in this youth group their trained to be demon hunters. The idea that every religion has a sect of demon hunters whether they call it l that or not, just works. Their powers mixes with the story quite well and all over this is a fun. Think it‘d be great in any library collection.
