pickI know the reviews for this one aren‘t great, but I liked it. It is a slow burn but it kept my interest and kept me guessing trying to figure out the mystery. Some good twists at the end too!

This very much written for me, a former child who was saved by books. It goes over the edge into too syrupy at times, but still satisfies-- and it's a nice change from the cliche of “you met your life-saving artist and he's a real dick.“ This author isn't perfect, but does not let us down.
And my first full bingo card for #HauntedShelf! I love cards like this because they're subjective. It's really fun coming up with meaningful associations.

so-soIdk if audio was the best format to read this book. There are a lot of points of view as the MC has DID. They get a job at a remote castle on an island as a caretaker. It‘s a thriller so won‘t say much more. I‘m not sure I like Alyssa Cole‘s mysteries.

pickAt last! A collection of short stories that (mostly) do “exactly what it says on the tin“. Nine short stories in the tradition of Christmas ghost stories which give the reader a chill.
The standout stories to me were 'The Wrong Teletubby', 'The Old Folk', & 'Panic Room'. Each of these had a killer twist at the end. This is probably the only collection of short stories I've really enjoyed reading recently, (continued)

Referred to as an unholy hybrid of Beaches and The Exorcist. Love how this reads like an ‘80s horror flick and includes a lot of ‘80s pop culture and songs in the story. Creepy at times and definitely some cringe moments.
