The Silent House of Sleep
The Silent House of Sleep: The First Dr Jack Cuthbert Mystery | Allan Gaw
1 post | 3 to read
Winner of the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize Death is a lonely business . . . No one who meets Dr Jack Cuthbert forgets him. Tall, urbane, brilliant but damaged, this Scottish pathologist who works with Scotland Yard is the best the new DCI has seen. But Cuthbert is a man who lives with secrets, and he still battles demons brought back from the trenches. When not one but two corpses are discovered in a London park in 1929, Cuthbert must use every tool at his disposal to solve the mystery of their deaths. In the end, the horrifying truth is more shocking than even he could have imagined.

Reading is oh so slow sinse getting back to normal. But I am currently reading this one. It won the Scottish Crime Debut of the Year 2024. I‘m getting to know Dr Jack Cuthbert, our main man, a pathologist working for Scotland Yard (I liked him immediately) . It‘s 1929 and a mystery is beginning. I‘m not far in but so far I‘m loving it. 🤞🏻

andrew61 Sounds good. I like a new Scottish crime story and 1929 sounds good. 2w
