My May #bookspin and #doublespin picks!
This was a wonderfully fun rom com. I appreciated that while it made fun of the tropes in the genre, it did not resort to the typical 'misunderstanding' conflict towards the end. The characters lives were realistically complicated, with the complexities of family responsibilities well represented. In addition, the Alaska setting was a treat. I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Edelweiss+ for the digital advance reading copy. 4/5 stars
I am late in reviewing this April ARC. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing it. In a rather hectic month, this provided the steam, heart, and laughs one always loves in their rom com. It also proved grumpy characters don‘t need to be jerks.

Want your next favorite rom com? This is your girl! It has an amazing Alaskan setting, sizzling chemistry, and allllll the feels! I‘ll admit Margot‘s attitude was a little off-putting at first, but of course she has soft layers under her prickly armor. The lightheartedness was balanced out by real emotion, and I was just as moved by the familial storylines as the romantic love. #Aardvark #AardvarkBookClub
I can't remember the last romance I enjoyed as much as this one. This was so much fun! I loved how the author played into all the tropes. The author was unapologetic with this cute couple in Alaska and their adventures. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
What a cute romcom! A quick & genuinely funny read—it opens with romance writer Margot‘s public humiliation between exposure of her granny panties, but also her secret Happily Never After file, detailing unhappy alternate endings to her popular books. Longtime caregiver for her younger sister, Margot‘s resistant to her sister‘s plan for Margot to spend 6 weeks in Alaska at a remote lodge. From the get-go, Margot‘s dropped into an array of tropes!
