The Searchers

1. I haven‘t read this book yet but this is my absolute favorite Western after Tombstone (which is not based on a book!)
2. Hmm. I want to read more in depth about the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. Anyone have any suggestions?
3. Cat Ballou and the newer version of True Grit.

JenlovesJT47 @ozma.of.oz it‘s surprisingly good! I usually prefer the originals to the remakes but this is one exception, it‘s so good! There is one book about Doc that I need to finish. I started it years ago but had to take it back to the library.

How many of you like the John Wayne movie The Searchers? It‘s my favorite western after Tombstone. I‘ve never read the book and couldn‘t pass up buying it while it‘s on sale today.

I'm loving today's #fictionnonfictionpairings ! Here are two that I read back-to-back. The Searchers is a western classic (and famous John Wayne movie) about the search for a girl captured by the Comanches. It pairs so well with this other book, primarily about Quanah Parker, whose mother was a blonde, blue-eyed Texan child when she herself was taken by the Comanches. #SeasonsReadings2016
