Memoir by the co-founder of the famous Salt Lake City bookshop.
An informative and emotional history of one of my favorite indie bookstore: The King‘s English in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I grew up visiting this store, and it was a true delight to learn how it came to be and how it operates. I really appreciated reading of the difficulties they‘ve dealt with. And many big name authors have visited! Also many, many book lists to peruse and take notes on! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
#TBRtemptation post 3! Follow along as Burton takes you on a journey through the book-selling world, centered around her own independent bookshop, The King's English, in Salt Lake City, UT. Each chapter has a theme representing one aspect of the bookshop's biography--hosting authors, planning events, & general ups & downs. & this will serve to massively increase your TBR with a list of recs at the end of each chapter. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
A book about books, by a bookseller & book lover, written to entertain & inspire other avid readers. She is successful. Burton is guilty of abundant name-dropping, but she obviously does it out of love for others, not for her own aggrandizement. This aside, the book was charming. My TBR list doubled in size based on Burton's stories & recommendations. If I have a chance to visit SLC, I'll drop by TKE to thank Burton in person! #LitsyAtoZ #LetterB
One day spent picking through bookstores and record stores means I get to spend the next day like this. #posthocergopropterhoc
#setinabookstore My favorite local bookstore! The King's English has been an important part of my life since before I could crawl. I've spent hours lost in the bookshelves and never left without at least four new books in hand. #slc #slclitsy #thekingsenglish #seasonsreadings2016 @RealLifeReading
