pickNow THAT was a sequel! All the good elements from the first book — tight plot, strong characters, searing romance — and wind it all up a few more notches. The stakes just keep getting raised and the pace is good and fast, with lots of growth and change, twists and turns. And a total OMG cliffhanger to wrap it up at the end. AGAIN. It was maybe a touch long, but I didn‘t really feel it because the story is so engaging. Loved this one!
Just finished Brimstone. Was a great read and now NEED book 3. Sigh. Will be worth the wait though.
pickThis had a slow start, and the first third definitely could use a little more editing. However, at the 40% mark the action and story really picked up. It became far more focused on the fantasy world building and far more engaging. It also had quite the tense and heartrending ending. Now the long wait for book 3. 4⭐️

Unlike the first book, this one didn't draw me in. The endless “mate“ references didn't help—she uses it constantly. We get it, they're mated. Honestly, I think I liked it more when they had the angst between them, and now that they‘re “mated,” all that delicious tension is gone. Sometimes I was just downright bored with the monotony this was giving.
🎙️•I love duet narration, so this was obviously fantastically done.

This one has a massive cliffhanger. This one definitely took some unexpected twists and turns, and there are some awesome reveals about Fisher and how amazing his mom was! I can‘t wait for the third book.
