The Lost and the Found
The Lost and the Found | Cat Clarke
11 posts | 13 read | 35 to read
Fans of Lucy Christopher's Stolen, Caroline B. Cooney's The Face on the Milk Carton, and Natasha Preston's The Cellar will be captivated by this twisty psychological thriller about an abducted girl who finally returns home to her family--but is she really who she claims to be?   THE LOST When six-year-old Laurel Logan was abducted, the only witness was her younger sister, Faith. Since then, Faith's childhood has revolved around her sister's disappearance--from her parents' broken marriage and the constant media attention, to dealing with so-called friends who only ever want to talk about her missing sister.   THE FOUND Now, thirteen years later, a young woman is found in the front yard of the Logans' old house, disoriented and clutching the teddy bear Laurel was last seen with. Can her sister finally be back? Faith always dreamed of her sister coming home; she just never believed it would happen. But soon a disturbing series of events leaves Faith increasingly isolated from her family and paranoid about her sister's motives. Before long, Faith begins to wonder if it's the abduction that's changed her sister, or if it's something else. . . .

I identified with this story because it illustrates and internal conflict that I have been faced with before. The conflict of trying to be happy for a sibling, but also deep down being jealous of the parental validation they are getting.

cecewalshh sensing some DEEP ROOTED ISSUES with zeno here!!!

I like the way the book is written continuously from a first person perspective. This story is written from the perspective of the younger sister. As the story continues, it dives deep into her internal monologue and highlights how her perspective on life changes.

cecewalshh YES!! You captured this really well, Sola M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11mo

In the book “The lost and the Found“ the antagonist is the main character, Faith, realizes that her older sister, who has been abducted for 13 years, has finally come home. She feels as though she has always lived in the shadows of her sister, and now that shes home, a small part of her misses when it was just her getting her parents attention.

This was rather predictable in my opinion but compelling nonetheless. A young girl goes missing and is found 13 years later but something isn‘t quite right. Despite figuring out the twists well before the reveals this story kept me interested. I liked the family dynamics and Faith‘s best friend was great too. Realistic teenager problems in addition to the main story line. Overall a decent pick.

This is truly a pageturner! It's creepy and chilling, frustrating and heart breaking. A masterpiece. This is the first book by Cat Clarke I've read but it most certainly won't be the last. The suspense had me on the brink of skimming through it just to found out how it all ended. It had me laughing and gasping, and almost crying.

Nachdem die Kinder die Tafiti-App getestet haben, mussten wir gleich noch einen richtigen Kuchen backen.
Ich werde gleich noch die ersten Seiten von "Falsche Schwestern" lesen. Wer kennt es schon?

Cat Clarke is one of my favourite YA authors. Whilst not as dark as her other reads this is full of mystery and suspense. You can find my full review at https://bytheletterbookreviews.com/2016/07/28/the-lost-and-the-found-by-cat-clar...

This book was excellent. Telling the story of the sister who was left behind, when the missing sister arrives, is it sibling rivalry or something more sinister. The last page had me in tears. This book made me a fan of Cat Clarke.
