#SundayShelfie Here‘s my YA section of my TBR bookshelf. The tagged book is an ARC that comes out in April I was lucky enough to snag from my local indie bookstore. Most of the others were purchased from the library book sales for 50 cents or so (except for the BOTM titles). Sort of a ragtag group of books but I am excited to read them all nonetheless (as soon as I stop checking out other library books). 😀❤️📚

Argh! #unpopularopinion time... I finished it for a book club otherwise would have dnf‘d. I didn‘t care about any of the characters. The dude is married with a kid and disappears...to go be with a girl from his past? The premise didn‘t work for me. The all knowing narrator didn‘t work for me either. The story itself was, well, boring. Lots of eye rolling. I am reading another book with a blind MC which is a million times better.

BarbaraBB Hmm. I had it stacked but do have my doubts now. #unstacked 1d
Tracyantoon @BarbaraBB it has high ratings here and on goodreads but the “epic love story” was way too cheesy for me and just not well written in my humble opinion. I felt like I was being told the story and not shown the story. Lots of gripes about it. Book club should be interesting. 😀 Btw, your pics of Oman are gorgeous! ☀️🐫🌵🌴 1d

A passionate woman sees a young girl with a tiny baby in the pouring rain waiting for the train and wants to help her. The plot unravels from there at an exceedingly slow pace. I did enjoy the mystery and the structure of the novel was well done. The deterioration of the mental health of one of the MCs was also brilliantly portrayed. The pacing was so painfully slow but I am glad I made it through to the end. 3⭐️

Not sure how I feel about this thriller. Different and interesting but maybe it was all so far fetched that I had a hard time suspending disbelief. Maybe I just didn‘t connect with the characters (just about all of which are unlikeable). Maybe I am just over these crazy thrillers and it‘s a it‘s not you it‘s me situation. At any rate, I finished it but it was just alright. 3⭐️

I think I have evolved as a reader away from the over the top crime mysteries that I was once drawn to. However I have a bajillion of them on my TBR and need to do a more thorough job of weeding them out. This is the prequel to a series and was otherwise fine just not for me.

This was a slow burn family drama that just didn‘t wow me. I kept waiting for more and it never delivered. The cover is gorgeous and it had so much potential. 3 grown siblings all spending the weekend with their father. Chaos, sibling rivalry, and drama ensues but something about it just didn‘t land for me. Was hoping for more connection with the mom and it didn‘t feel genuine I think. #theycantallbe5stars

This was a quiet slow burn character driven novel that I certainly enjoyed. The MC‘s mom disappears one night. The family is trying to piece together what happened knowing the mom is a sleepwalker. This cover is so heartbreaking and the story is bananas but sadly inspired by a true story. A photographer for a newspaper takes a photo of 2 kids in a house with a sign in front that says 2 children for sale. The book follows what happens to the photographer, a fellow employee, and the kids. It alternates POV and is done expertly. I continued to #justonemorechapter this book till poof! It was over. I was hooked from the start. Great pacing. 4⭐️

#FebruaryFeels This middle grade series is so fantastic. I read both the books in this series aloud to my kids and they fell in love with it. Begged me to read more (I think they just liked my robot voice 🤖) Roz the robot washes ashore on an island in the first book and makes a home among the local wildlife. The 2nd book Roz gets robotnapped and is forced to work on a farm. She plans a daring #narrowescape to get back home. Highly recommend!

This was a very compelling historical fiction set in New York in the 1950s. Two timelines (can historical fiction even be told without 2 timelines at this point-this format is so popular). Very well done and I believe this was Fiona Davis‘s debut novel. I have more of her books on my TBR but wanted to start at the beginning.
