I loved the style of this important graphic novel. I know this book is available in audio, but do yourself a favor and read an ebook or physical copy. It turned a little too political for me towards the end, but it is funny and touching. Book 71 4⭐️
I‘ve been watching Hamilton ‘Non Stop‘ this last month. You‘d think ‘That Would Be Enough‘ but how could I ‘Say No To This‘ amazing book. It takes you to ‘The Room Where it Happened.‘ I am ‘Helpless‘ and ‘Satisfied‘. I hope I get ‘My Shot‘ to see it live where it will ‘Blow Us All Away‘. Until then ‘l‘ll Wait For It.‘ Book 70 5⭐️

This character driven 22 hour audiobook covers the life span of a woman who becomes an expert in moss at the beginning of the nineteenth century. I know-sounds boring right? But it is not!! A heartbroken mom whose child went missing meets a guy who has a daughter who looks like her missing child. Interesting set up with several twists. This book does get dark, but I loved it. Book 63 4⭐️
I love Hilderbrand‘s books as they tend to be a little deeper then a cozy romance. They focus on family dynamics with a side of romance. This one is about twins with mommy issues. I loved that this story takes place not only on Nantucket as per usual but also Martha‘s Vineyard. Perfect beach read.🏝 Book 61 4⭐️
Three women from different countries whose lives connect. A touching, powerful fast read. This is a very slim novel and I was left wanting a little more. Book 60 4⭐️
I did enjoy the characters as well as the 3 time periods in this book, but ultimately it was weird and way too confusing for me. Book 59 2⭐️
Toes in the sand and a book in my hand. 🏝This book surprised me. I was not expecting a deserted island story from that cover. I enjoyed the relationship between the survivors with a 14 year age difference. A lovely beach read, just don‘t read it on a plane! Book 58 4⭐️
This humorous 3 volume graphic novel follows a species of crab that can only travel in one direction. We watch as they evolve and learn to turn!! They face discourse in their ranks and fight some enemies. Cute drawings. Loved the human characters too. I did feel some of the humor may have been lost in the translation though. Books 55, 62, 65 3⭐️
Great beach read! A woman notices something in her neighbor‘s house that may link him to a murder. Not as twisty as The Kind Worth Killing, but it will still keep you wondering what will happen next. A page turner. Book 57 4⭐️
I have trouble reading in a moving car. So when faced with a 10 hour car ride I decided to try an audiobook with a physical book. I could follow along and just look up to watch the world go by when I felt woozy. I certainly chose the right book for that. The full cast was amazing. Book 56 4⭐️
Oh my gosh! Why did I wait so long to read this one? Cute story of an unprepared woman who goes on a 3 week Outward Bound type hiking trip with a dash of romance, of course. I loved the writing. Looking forward to reading many more books by this author. ⛺️🥾 🎒 Book 54 4⭐️

This book took me to an Australian island that was a prison back in 1890. There is also a modern day story of an author who finds old notes in the walls of the house she has inherited. I really enjoyed the strong historical heroine, Tilly. There were some unexpected twists! Book 52 4⭐️
This was my favorite panel from this book. Overall I really enjoyed it, but as someone who is married and been an adult longer then they were a child many of the comics didn‘t ring true to my life. Book 51. 4⭐️
This graphic novel was delightful! Lovely, colorful illustrations. Book 50 4⭐️
On the surface this book is lighter in tone then I expected, however there is a lot to talk about here. I loved the beginning and ending, but was a bit slow in the middle. Book 49 3⭐️
I read Virgin River many years ago and book 2 has been sitting on my Nook ever since. I am so glad I finally read it! I loved returning to this little town. This one had several story lines going on with of course a cute romance at the center. I started watching the Netflix show too. Book 48 4⭐️
I loved this literary novel. Anton wants out of his family‘s criminal business, but he is asked to do one last job. It is a slow burn and jumps around in time, but the storytelling is fantastic. Book 47 4⭐️
Informative graphic memoir by George Takei of Star Trek fame. I loved George‘s innocent childhood memories of living in the Japanese internment camps. For example, thinking the fence kept bad people out. I loved his adult relationship with his dad as he realized all that had happened to them. Book 46 4⭐️
I understand why this is a book people re-read. I am sure I‘d pick up a lot more details the second time through. Completely unlikeable characters, but the writing kept me interested. The first half was a page turner. It slowed down in the second half. Book 45 4⭐️
A mom stands by her son hospital‘s bed after he overdoses. Alternating chapters from the mom and son‘s POV. Very emotional. Powerful story. Hard to put down. 4⭐️ book 44
I was looking forward to this one for so long. I am bummed it did not work for me. The backwards time line was confusing. I found all the characters to be unlikeable and the ending left me puzzled. Book 43 2⭐️
A summer in New York City without kids, oh and a hot librarian, what‘s not to love! Fun and refreshing. I could relate to her struggle getting her teen to read. Book 42 4⭐️
Historical fiction with a duel timeline. I very much enjoyed the historical storyline featuring the WWII female pilot program. What amazing ladies!! The modern story line was a bit predictable. Book 39 3⭐️
Girl elopes with her brother‘s best friend who is of Japanese decent two days before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Divided families and interesting insight on how quickly the nation changed after the bombing. I did enjoy the story. I think it was a bit more heavy then I was expecting. 3⭐️ book 38
This book grabbed me from page 1. Venus is a character you will love. Coming of age and family themes. A fast read. Book 36. 4⭐️
The premise really drew me in. However, there was lots of character back stories rather than crime investigation. I still really enjoyed it. I read these on Hoopla. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the reading experience was on a device. You are able to click and read one panel at a time. Books 35, 37, 40, 41. 4⭐️
Another one of my challenges this year is to read one book from each author that I have 3 or more books on my TBR. If I keep adding their books to my list I need to start reading them. This one features a modern story of a woman who receives a painting of her grandma with a strange note and a WWII German soldier who is at a POW camp in the US. This one was emotional. Looking forward to her other books! 4⭐️ book 34
One of my book challenges this year is to read all the books I placed on on my Goodreads TBR in 2016. I love reading backlist and really finding some great gems! This one has three timelines 1890, 1920 and 1945 and three sets of characters who are linked in some way. Loved the mansion that is also a character in this book. 4⭐️ book 33
Adorable juvenile graphic novel about neighborhood kids having fun over the summer. They make amazing costumes out of cardboard. 4⭐️ book 32
This book is told completely in a diary of lists that did start to get old after a while. The list maker is a very insecure man who has some bizarre thoughts. Overall it was cute with a bit of side eye. 4⭐️ book 31
Even though I lost track of how many identities this main character assumed and despite her bad decisions, I was rooting for her every step of the way. Great twists. I really enjoyed this book. 4⭐️ book 30
This short epistolary novel tells the story of the island of Nollop where the residents are banned from using certain letters of the alphabet after they start falling off a sign. I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn‘t strike me as funny or cute. 3⭐️ book 29
Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. Her novels always contain some sort of moral dilemma. What would you do? This one follows a prosecutor who specializes in child abuse cases. Then she finds out her own son has been sexually assaulted. This courtroom drama has several shocking twists and turns. I really enjoyed it. 4⭐️ book 28
Sci-fi about a group of high school seniors who get pulled into playing a computer game. The game manipulates the kids to do things they shouldn‘t. Please note: this is not YA. This book is dark. It is a pick for me, but I didn‘t feel connected to the kids. However, the world of the game was really cool. 4⭐️ book 27
I am so glad this one finally rose to the top of my TBR. It was published in the late 1970‘s and read as if it could have been released this year. Part sci- fi, but mostly historical fiction. 4⭐️ book 26
Time travel is mind bending. A fantastic end to this series! #graphicnovel 4⭐️ Book 25
