I finally got to see The Mousetrap and it was so much fun!

I love the tradition that, at the end of each performance, the person revealed to be the murderer steps forward and tells the audience to “keep the secret of whodunit locked in your heart.”

Tamra How fun! 7mo
MommyWantsToReadHerBook After a few years (my children weren't born yet, so more than 11 I guess) I can't remember who did it anyway 😂 7mo
LeahBergen @Tamra It really was! 😊 7mo

LeahBergen @MommyWantsToReadHerBook I hear you! 😆 I never seem to remember the killer in Christie‘s novels. I‘ll probably forget “whodunnit” in this play by next week. 😆 7mo
CarolynM I saw it 40 years ago and I‘ve never told 😆 7mo
jlhammar I'd love to see that someday. Great photo! 7mo
LeahBergen @CarolynM Wow, you‘re a good one with secrets. Now I know who to come to if I ever commit a “Golden Age of Crime” murder. 😆😆 It‘s good to see you back here! I‘ve missed you. 7mo
LeahBergen @jlhammar Thanks! I bought box seats so we could stretch out and drink wine. 😆😆 7mo
CarolynM I‘ve missed you too. I‘ve just been too preoccupied to read or interact with friends, IRL or online. I‘m going to try All Done By Kindness very soon. It might be a while before I can face There We‘re No Windows🥴😢 7mo
LeahBergen @CarolynM Yes, I would definitely hold off on There Were No Windows. Ooph! 7mo

Me (third time seeing mousetrap) asking my sister (first time seeing mousetrap) with a slightly smug air, if she‘s worked out who the murderer is - when I have actually forgotten half the plot and don‘t recall several of the characters at all…

ITS MY RIGHT AS A BIG SISTER 🤣

Dragon There‘s a movie called See How They Run - filmed in the theatre during the pandemic- it‘s a fun romp with Mousetrap as the background 💚🐉 1y
vivastory @Dragon I almost watched that movie last weekend on streaming. I still have yet to read/watch Mousetrap. Should remedy ASAP 1y
batsy @Dragon Oh, nice! I've been meaning to watch it. It arrived at our cinemas over here so quietly that I missed it even though I was looking forward to seeing it on the big screen 😢 @vivastory Same re: Mousetrap! 1y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Dragon, I want to watch it! I remember seeing the posters for it in the cinema - but I blinked and missed its release. Think it‘s on Disney+. 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @batsy, same - I blinked and missed it being in cinema. This is only the Mousetraps second time (in 70 years) in Australia. 1y
Dragon It is on Disney Plus in Canada. I thought it was a lot of fun. I think I will watch it again this weekend @batsy 1y
Dragon @vivastory I would read the story or watch the play first as you will get more from the movie 💚🐉 1y
Dragon @thegirlwiththelibrarybag I bet the play was really good - I‘ve only seen an amateur production 💚🐉 1y
batsy @Dragon Thank you, I checked and it's on Disney+ here as well so I'll have to make time for it this weekend 😊 1y
batsy @thegirlwiththelibrarybag That's very cool that you got to see it! I believe it's come to Malaysia only once in the 2010s (and ofc, I missed it because I was abroad at the time...) 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @batsy, hopefully another production will tour! It would have been the 2010s when it came to Australia last - my grandparents took me. 1y

“I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow; but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.”

Happy birthday to Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie Mallowan - the best-selling author of all time, born 15 September, 132 years ago.

Dragon Happy birthday 🥳 Agatha! She started me on my lifelong love of mystery novels 💚🐉 2y

#31bookpics #booksinthewild #bookstack

Snapped a pic of this on my way to a community book exchange. I remember watching the tagged play a few years ago, it was brilliant.

Forgot to post this earlier. I'm so glad I convinced my sis to go see this with me while we were in London. We loved it. Agatha Christie was so clever.
What's funny is that I'd read the play but could only remember the bare bones of it, so the ending wasn't ruined for me 😀
