Very well written. Story of Najeeb is a testimonial for people who go through tough time hanging on that one single thread of Hope to see better days! Loved it
“How many millions of Malayalis live in the Gulf? How many millions have lived and returned to the homeland! But how many of them have really experienced the severity of the desert?“
These words just echoed in my mind even after I finished the book. This book shows the lesser known side of the Gulf life. The dreams, hopes, grief and pain of all who migrated from their homeland for green pastures.

A beautifully written #TrueStory of unimaginable torment, unshakeable faith and the indefatigable human spirit. Lots of lessons in here - how little the body needs to survive, how it adapts, how the brain conspires to keep you alive even when it seems impossible and an elucidation that the need to live is a deep-seated driving force that never leaves you even when you think it‘s all over. A humbling #MustRead that will wring you out.
🐐 Days as the boy plays. #Bliss #QuietTime amidst all the rollicking #CurrentlyReading
#maybookflowers day 19: #peace
It may not seem like much time but these thirty minutes to myself on a busy Friday provides some peace and respite from my two boys (the younger one is at preschool).
And because I wasn't reading enough books at the same time, I started this last night for #AsianLitBingo. It's about a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia and is based on real-life events.
Picked up some holds at the library for myself. And for #asianlitbingo
Have you read any?
I adore Kirino's crime books and am curious about this one. And of course Ms Marvel!
The true story of Najeeb Mahummood, where fate betrays this man. The story is about a man (keralite, indian) leaves to Saudi Arabia to work and free his family from starvation but when he reaches there everything changes to the extent we haven't even imagined.
To the ones who haven't read this book PICK IT UP! Because this book brings hope in every soul to who have lost every bit of it.
A simple true story of man where humanity is lost and found
