Very sad book. But I was happy to finally figure out how our favorite assassin was betrayed and captured. Excellent wrapping up of her story.
Re-reads of the novellas complete... this last one seemed to hurt more than it did originally... maybe because I knew what was to come.... My re-reading continues with Throne of Glass 😊
Last of the novella re-reads....
The last prequel novella to the actual series and I don‘t get the obsession with this story. Celaena is a spoiled, selfish little brat who pretty much brings all her “sorrows” on herself and I really have no sympathy for her. I don‘t know if I‘ll continue on with the actual series. Between the basic writing, horrid character development, and mediocre story, I think I‘ll stick with grown up writing.
This story was more heartbreaking and I didn't want to finish it because as having read the whole series, I knew where this was going to end. I was thankful for the lack of some details and it completely Celaena's transformation into who we meet a year from now.
"Groaning, Celaena stood and walked to the bookshelf along the wall, where she began pulling out books and stacking them into the nearest empty trunk. She'd have to leave her furniture and most of her shoes behind for now, but there was no way in hell she was going to move to the southern continent without all of her books."
???❤ Packing the books first! #JustLikeMe
5/5⭐️ This was my favourite story of this collection of novellas! Read in November 2016
