#26Shorts2026 #3BookChallenge2026 #2026Reads #VirginiaBloomsberries #192030

This is such a beautiful read, and paints a vivid scene of a garden with people passing through it and feel I am there with how the scenes come alive.

After reading this I discovered the first edition included illustrations by Virginia Woolf's sister, the artist Vanessa Bell. I would have loved to have seen this book.

With the holiday mood still in the air the title of this short spoke to me, a Poirot story by Agatha Christie. I haven't read many stories by Agatha Christie but the ending of this was unexpected, and the friendship between Poirot and Hastings is warming and kind of like the hot chocolate Poirot sips at the beginning of this story.

Rome753 I remember my grandma always reading Agatha Christie novels. 19h
AnishaInkspill @Rome753 This is a wonderful memory and puts into perspective how popular Agatha Christie's works remain. 9h

#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl

I‘ve been looking forward to this one for #2026Reads. Thanks @RamsFan for lining this up for #ClassicLSFBC, I've been meaning to read it for a few years but I never got around to it. I‘ve read the first 2 chapters and just want to say: ‘Oh Ford'.

This is also one of 111 books for #192030, 1932 prompt.

These are the first set of books I'll read in 2026:

Argonautika is one of the two books this month for #StorySpins
Brave New World, first sci-fi book of the year that I've always been meaning to read #ClassicLSFBC
Hannibal Rising, first book of my Long Reads Workout part of the #3BookChallenge2026
The Chocolate Box, (loved the title) first short story for #26Shorts2026
War Music, along with these is one of the books I am reading for #2026Reads

Here are the 5 books I'm reading for #AllergicToChunksters as part of my #2026Reads. A couple more may be added but starting with these 5 and seeing how it goes.

Thanks to @julieclair for setting up this challenge, in the wings there are 2 more books that I could not fit into the Long Reads Workout 2026 Challenge I've setup on Storygraph. This workout is one of my #3BookChallenge2026 to (hopefully) make my reading next year go smoother.

julieclair This is a great list! 👍 1w
AnishaInkspill @julieclair thanks, listing is easy, reading on the other hand ... 😂 7d

#StorySpins #2026reads

@AllDebooks thanks for setting this up. This is a perfect challenge for me, I got into reading mythology by accident, it all started to see if I could read The Iliad. It was tough but I also enjoyed the challenge of reading it and was amazed by how entertaining a story that was around millennia ago could be entertaining. So, I'm looking forward to this challenge and seeing what everyone else is reading. ⬇️

AnishaInkspill For Jan #2026reads I‘ve lined up the unabridged version of Argonautika, I‘ve listened to the abridged version, brilliantly read by Juliet Stevenson but this time reading the full version and the book, I‘ll see how it goes. I‘m also revisiting Prometheus Bound and putting together maybe 6 poems that relate to gods and mosters. 3w
AllDebooks Love this. ❤️ Great selection x 3w
