Two thumbs up 👍! This was my 3rd time reading this and it never disappoints-especially since I never remember the details! 😆 If you‘re going to read one Victorian Gothic novel, make it this one; epistolatory and perfectly paced. Thank you to @BarkingMadRead for leading the #HashtagBrigade ! 🙏

This counts toward my #AllergictoChunksters / #ChunksterChallenge2025 at 626 pages!

I listen to this mostly and the Blackstone audio production was 👌

Amiable I‘ve never read this one— will have to add to my list! 19h
Ruthiella @Amiable Awesome! I think you will like it. Also, if you do audio, it‘s particularly a great option for this one due to its structure of multiple narratives. 16h

This is the conclusion to Binding 13. Loved it just as much as the first book. The author got you inside of the characters' heads. Great descriptive prose and a kick ass plot. It had all the feels. 5🌟 These books have to read in order. #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #LitsyAtoZ2025 book title addition @Texreader

TheSpineView #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable #AllergicToChunksters @julieclair This book comes in at 667 pages. Which I read in just three days. 4d

#AllergicToChunksters

I consider anything over 500 pages to be a chunkster so at 600 pages my first chunkster is completed! I enjoyed the writing and all the characters but I did have to suspend my disbelief a lot with the murder mystery and that was a bit of a disappointment for me. Still, it‘s a great character study and worth a read.

4.25/5⭐️

The one where things start to get dark.

I may not have finished this in February, but it was my February #BookSpin.

@TheAromaofBooks

Bonus: it works for #allergictochunksters and is a petite chunkster for the #chunksterchallenge

Even better than the first book. Complex, dark, twisty and achingly romantic, as the characters fight for their lives and their loves, battles they may not be able to win. Includes one of the most powerful scenes of hand-holding ever written.

I'm trying to get away from numerical goals but the satisfaction of a full board does make it harder. 😋

3½✨

This is a typical Hero's journey with all the usual tropes you'd expect. Nothing earth shattering or different. Still I enjoyed visiting the world of Alagaësia and getting to meet all the characters. I'm intrigued to see where the series will take me.
I have my suspicions and would like to confirm them.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I wasn't a huge fan of this series, but I seem to be in the minority 😂 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @TheAromaofBooks I thought I'd give it another book or 2 before I cast my final vote 😉, but I can see why people don't like it. It's a lot of work with not that much satisfaction. 1mo
TheAromaofBooks It weirdly felt like I was reading nonfiction the whole time, except for a fictional place haha 1mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @TheAromaofBooks Yes! You're right. I started Assassin's Appreciate last night and the flow is totally different. Eragon feels choppy, like everything was written and rewritten to make it sound good, using unnecessarily complicated words instead of just telling the story. 1mo

I‘m not equipped to judge whether or not this is “the greatest novel ever written”, as has been alleged. But it did make me think a lot. It covers just about every human emotion in its pages, and many social, religious, and philosophical ideas as well. I‘m glad I read it, but won‘t be rereading it again anytime soon!

Many thanks to @TheBookHippie for hosting the #KareninaWinter buddy read, as I would never, ever have read this on my own.

julieclair Thanks, too, @TheBookHippie for your encouragement along the way! 💙 #AllergicToChunksters #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable 1mo

BooksandCoffee4Me Oh, I loved this but that ending… 1mo
julieclair @mhillis I didn‘t know there was a retelling! Anna K sounds fun… and it‘s only 400 pages long. 😂👍 I think I‘d enjoy reading it… but I‘ll wait a year or so…😉 1mo
julieclair @BooksandCoffee4Me I know, right?! 1mo
