For #RiotGrams day 9 boks with a character or author that shares my name. These two instantly sprang to mind. The top one because I wound up having a conversation with Jade Chang at #BRLive in Nov about my name (and its spelling). The second is a nursing textbook. I share my full name with the author. The librarians at the health sci library in my undergrad school were always very excited about it, and mentioned it every time they saw my ID.

#ReadJanuary Jade Chang was on the If We're Not Laughing We're Crying panel at #brlive and she definitely had me laughing. I also enjoyed The Wangs Vs. The World! I'm discussing it tomorrow with my book club. #BooksByAsianWriters

Laugh out loud funny, intelligent and thoughtful. I saw Negin speak at #brlive and she was so cool! Do this book on audio! She's HILARIOUS. There's a pdf that goes with it and it includes great graphics. I found myself nodding A LOT.

Burn Baby Burn | Meg Medina
Pickpick

I really felt for Nora and her situation. Growing up and becoming an adult means you have to do things you don't want to, and I liked watching her figure it out. The background story of Son of Sam was less involved than I had expected it to be, but I really liked the historical accuracy Meg Medina wrote with. I'm glad I got to see her speak at #BRLive last year.

Also, Hector is probably one of the most unlikeable characters I've ever read! 😡

The first book I've gotten to from my Brooklyn Library bookmatch at Book Riot Live. The librarians who visited #BRLive were amazing & I'm looking forward to trying their recs!

#SeasonsReadings2016 I read Blood at the Root a couple of months ago before #brlive . Patrick Phillips is so smart and I enjoyed seeing him on the panels. I am really interested in reading his #Poetry #TBR
