Second book in the series, and while I did not really like the first, still thought I‘d give this a try. Unfortunately, this one was no more to my liking than the previous. The language felt stilted and artificial. The characters were like cardboard cutouts. Great story from the POV of Temperance, who traveled to Jamestown as a woman who was to become a wife to one of the settlers. So much in this book, but Temperance is writing the truth of the starvation that occurred and almost destroyed the settlement. And amazing story of courage and perseverance, especially for women of that time who didn't have a real voice. Her strength ⤵️
