I wasn‘t sure if I‘d like it at the start but the precise, quiet style grew on me so much and I wound up loving it. The writing was so still but there was so much violence and darkness underneath. Wallace was so different from me but this sucked me into his head and life, which is what the best books do I guess. Having read so few books from the list so far I can‘t call it yet but I think this should be shortlist-worthy

The #booker2020 long list is here! I‘m afraid I‘ve been in a bit of a reading slump the last couple weeks. The old mental health hasn‘t been the best ever. I‘m hoping to read some of them but I‘m reading slow and trying not to put pressure on myself. I‘ve only read Such A Fun Age and other than Hilary Mantel and Anne Tyler I‘m not familiar with any of these authors. Book shopping time! What do you guys think of the list?
